I doubt the final figures for 2019 are already out. Maybe Q1, Q2 and Q3 data are out. Nigeria growing at 2.3% is nothing to celebrate when pop growth rate is 2.6% annually. You're becoming poorer. Not growing at all.
Theenchanter2:
so why did Nigeria grew at 2.3% last year?

Zambia - the Ghana twin - close to defaulting. Eurobond yield of 20%, currency depreciation of 18%.

calm down and read ur previous post again, no time for shenanigans.

I presume ur article was posted prior to 2019 cos it said Nigeria's gdp is forecasted to grow at 1.7% in 2019 and 2.0% in 2020-21, but our gdp grew at 2.3% in Q4 2019 YoY.

U can fck off with ur remaining ramblings.

It actually copy-paste from World Bank. You might want to take your bile to them. I doubt anybody has released Q4 data anywhere in the world - in the first week of January. Let us just say this is BEYOND YOUR PAYGRADE.

Nigeria 2019 Q4 - Unknown - earliest this can be released will be Feb 2020.
Nigeria 2019 Q3 - 2.28%
Nigeria 2019 Q2 -1.94%
Nigeria 2019 Q1 - 2.10%

Average so far for 2019 = 2.1%

Let me help you with basic English comprehension. That WB paragraph says Nigeria in 2019 year would have grown by 2.0% ( so far you're doing 2.1% - awaiting the Q4 data for final figure). Unless you perform miracles in last Q - World Bank look to be very close.

They expect you'll grow at 2.1% for 2020 and 2021.

Nigeria didn't surpass kenya in 2017, Nigeria's budget has always been bigger than Kenya's since inception.
So your government is lying?
Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by rvp20182: 7:12am On Jan 06, 2020
Nigeria federal budget is stuck at 24-29B dollars the last few years while Kenya has inched to 30-31B dollars.

For 2020 - Buhari is thinking of jumping to 34B dollars.

How have your exceeded their projection when WB is predicting 2.0 and you're at 2.1% before the last Q data is out.

FG To Spend N67bn On Rail Project To Niger Republic, O

The Federal Government is to spend N67.165 billion on seven railway projects across the country, including the rail line from Kano to Maradi in the Niger Republic, according to estimates in the 2020 budget recently signed by President Muhammadu Buhari.

In the 2020 budget estimates of the Ministry of Transport, the federal government said the funds are mainly its share of counterpart funding for the railway projects, which would also include the construction of a deep seaport, industrial park, and port harbour.

Particularly, the Ministry of Transport listed the projects as Lagos – Kano railway project; Calabar – Lagos rail project, Ajaokuta-Itakpe-Aladja (Warri) and Port Harcourt – Maiduguri

In addition, other rail projects captured in the ministry’s 2020 budget are that of Kano-Katsina-Jibiya -Maradi in the Niger Republic and Abuja-Itakpe and Aladja (Warri) project.

The Warri port and refinery, including Warri new harbor; Bonny deep seaport; Port Harcourt industrial park and other rail projects are also captured in the estimates.

Furthermore, the ministry also planned to spend N500 million on clearing of water hyacinths, floating debris and wastes among others, along the Lagos waterways from Agbara to Epe in 2020.
So this is what Nigerian government wants to use 30 billion US dollar loan for including paying salaries. Niger Republic has already signed a 3 billion US dollar agreements with Benin Republic to use their seaport so even if you put a real way to Niger Republic it will be no use.
