Instead of seeking to change legislation whenever it doesn’t suit ur purpose, why not recommend the president to change the AGF himself? Hasn’t he embarrassed the country enough with his 'Aboki' understanding of the law?
Our country needs strong independent institutions not men who think Nigeria and her constitution belongs to them for as long as they and their kin retain power!

Exactly what was on my mind. This is where any change or amendment should happen. The AG remains the chief prosecutor of the federation and should maintain oversight of the EFCC and ICPC while the Minister for Justice deals with the politics of the ministry without touching any investigation or prosecution issues. That way, any political colouration or interference is drastically reduced.
donpapa:
Not only that, the ministry of justice should be separated from office of the Attorney General of the Federation to wade off undue political interference as we’ve experienced over the years.

In fact, even the president needs to go because he is guilty of the bold part too.

Amend The Constitution to decentralise the current Unitary Federal Presidential System to our 36 Constitutional States Autonomous Control of their Police, Resources and Elections, you don't talk. But now you want to amend the same Constitution to create Loopholes for more diverse looting and self-Agrandisement.

Nope. Get a responsible AG rather

Every system needs checks and balances

No checks means abuse of power automatically

WHY IS IT THAT IT NORTHERNERS THAT ARE OCCUPYING BOTH THE EFCC AND THE MINISTRY OF JUSTICE?

They will northernize and connive together.

Both bodies should have some form of independence

Independence from who? They must take ultimate Orders from someone and Report to that someone. And what is their Constitutional Responsibilities?
