I decided to try keeping a dog after following this thread, I wanted to buy foreign breed but the price and upkeep made me rethink since this is my first time of ever keeping a dog in my life. When we were kids a mad dog from nowhere bite my kid bro and my family spent a lot on treatment, since then all of us had phobia for dogs. But this thread brought out a hidden passion for this animal within me. I had to buy a local breed to try my hands on taking care of dog right from puppy stage. Amazingly, the experience turned out great. Even my kids were so fond of her.
She's almost two years before giving birth to 4 lovely puppies on 4th Dec.2019 to the excitement of all of us in the family. But we noticed that her appetite went down, only drinks lots of water. Multivitamin was given to her but not much improvement was seen. But she still breastfed her puppies. The worst part of the whole thing was that we were to travel for the Christmas, we had to keep them in the custody of a neighbour, he has dogs too. One day he sent message that the mother was found dead! So he took the puppies. That they were strong. Within the following week, we came back with the excitement of retrieving the puppies from him, but alas, he said 3 of them couldn't make it, and the remaining one died that morning we were to collect them! The feeling was really devastating to all of us...from having 5 dogs to ground zero just within 2wks! Where do we start from again?

So sorry about your experience... You will get over it with time. Things like this are very painful

You might have saved the puppies if you'd been around. They thrive on baby food and would feed from a bottle.

Still, sorry about your loss. Remember that you bought this dog to learn, so learn and go get a new dog.

sorry for your loss
giving your sick dog and 4 puppies to your neighbour and travelling for Christmas wasn't a smart move...she needed urgent care and the puppies were still young and still being breastfed by a sick mother.
even after she died, there were things that could have been done to keep them alive without a mother since they were in fragile condition.
it's a sad thing to experience, I'm sorry just try to learn from your mistakes and push on.
