I only discovered gaming with 3rd gen.. But as at then 4gen was already out.... OP But how family com wasn't carried along And arcade where you have to play with coins... Also Nintendo game boy and Sega game gear ...  ? |

I started playing on both third and fourth generation systems in the mid to late nineties. Famicom, and SuperNES. |

onward4life:The Famicom is actually the same as the NES, making it a third generation video game console. The Nintendo Gameboy, and the Sega Game gear portable consoles should both belong to the fourth video games console generation. Arcade machines are a different beast entirely. The arcade machines internals usually change with each new console generation, also the arcade machine hardware were also slightly more powerful than their corresponding home consoles.
