Since Lecturers are professionals who also work in the field of education, they also need to have qualification in the field of education.

The M.Sc., Ph.D. holders should not be allowed to lecture in tertiary institutions. The M.ed and those with Doctors in education are the ones that's supposed to be working as a lecturer./
Professors can become lecturers because they have the highest ranking in lecturing job.

Tell me one country in the world where lecturers have to get an education degree to lecture university students

If it was a case of secondary or primary school
I would agree that those with edu background should dominate that space

But beyond secondary school
It's not necessary

There is a reason it is called tertiary institution

This reeks of low self esteem common with many who studied education in Nigeria
