Amotekun: Akeredolu Replies Malami, Says Laws Are Not Made In AGF’s Office by OndoFirstBorn(m): 11:55am On Jan 15, 2020
The Chairman of the South-West Governors' Forum and Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has responded to the comments attributed to the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, declaring ‘Operation Amotekun’ as an illegal outfit.

Mr. Akeredolu in an exclusive interview told Channels Television that it is clear laws are not made in the office of the AGF, but he can interpret the laws and advise the FG on matters relating to the law.

“One thing is clear, laws are not made in the office of the Attorney General; he can only interpret the laws and give positions of government on matters relating to the law.

“When he comes out with relevant portions of the law on the matter, we will consider it and respond adequately as the law stipulates.”

The Governor who alongside his colleagues from other Southwest states, last week, launched Amotekun in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital, added that the governors from the region are yet to meet since the pronouncement from the office of the AGF.

“We have not met, but I can assure you that when we meet, we will adequately respond to the position of the AGF.”

I said the same thing yesterday.

He is simply a chief lawyer to the government not the constitution himself.

He can not determine what is legal or not.

Well done! Governor Akeredolu SAN for putting the AGF in his place.

"Speak up, because the day you don't speak up for the things that matter to you is the day your freedom truly ends."

Kudos to Governor Akeredolu for always speaking up. I can remember he was the only Governor that criticised the invasion of the court premises by the DSS, he's also the only the Governor that spoke against the Hate Speech Bill. This is a true leader!

Amotekun is here to stay. The AGF should challenge the establishment of Amotekun in court.

At this stage, the South West Governors should not even contemplate backing down on the Amotekun else they commit political suicide.

If Malami and those proding him eventually succeed in stiffling live out of the Amotekun, then one might be safe to conclude that a particular region is bent on subjugating the other regions.

The earlier Nigerians irrespective of our regional/political divide begin to stand up against the feudal imposition of the present hausa-fulani government, the better for its emancipation.

You campaigned vigorously to install a very incompetent dunce as president.. You celebrated to high heavens when he bulldozed his way to power.. You regaled the whole world with endless tales about how this desert iguana has become the best thing to happen to Nigeria,.. You insulted all who disagreed with you while accusing them of being small minded ethnic merchants.......... Few months later you are in a heated battle with the government of the same messiah you installed because he has refused to allow you form an incendiary armed force to defend yourself from imminent death in the hands of your messiahs kinsmen.., all these because the messiah has failed woefully to do the most basic of his expected duties-protect lives and property.... If you want to form a new police because buharis police has failed abysmally, what are the reasons behind your vociferous support for his candidacy?? Why will you impose an incompetent administrative bimbo on the rest of us while cunningly trying hard to extricate yourself from his mal-administration by forming parallel government institutions Afonja.., Must you be treacherous

Well not to sound out tribalism or anything but when will the Yoruba's learn from history They've always been the most learned tribe amongst the three major tribes but also the most stupid amongst them all for their ass licking tendency for centuries. Awolowo and Abiola suffered this wrath in the past for their affiliation with the North against every other tribe. Yes it's always good to feel more important than others when it comes to Nigerian politics but till how long are the Yoruba's continue their foolery... The North has one thing in common Dominance and Total control over the federation the time to realize that is now cause Believe me it's too late for the SW...
NB: I've always blamed the SW for the derogatory nature of Nigeria as a nation from their cowardly nature OBj failed during the 70s to hand over power to the North because of the then Kaduna Mafia threat, a sitting Head of state. Nawao

This is just the beginning, Malami fighting hard for Fulani conquest plans. I’m sure the eastern governors too are going to come up with their own regional security. Let’s see how those killer Fulani herdsmen will still get the support of federal government
