Secondly, neither the cable, the Tribune or Saharareporters provided details of the supposed compromise the FG stated unlike the recently released report.

The FG stanch on the formation, again according to this recently released report, is that it is illegal based on the Constitution. In order for it to be legalized, Nigerian Constitution needs to be modified; which last I checked, your government has no interest in modifying the Constitution anytime soon. And according to your FG, giving justification on why it should be legalized does not change their stance on the matter.

Amotekun was set up like Hisbah and JTF to exploit the loopholes in the constitution that established community police from the onset.

If only you have listened to the arguments of founders you would have realized that they keep pointing to the aspects of the constitution that empowers state government to establish community police (Vigilante groups) as their main point of argument.

In addition, they also point to the part of the constitution that supports individual or group coming together to provide security for their communities. Hence, it clearly means that the vigilante groups from different community can come together for the common interest of their communities.

Consequently, like Hisbah in the north, this vigilante groups from different states can still have a central command at regional level.
