Anything to stop kidnapping along our highway is welcomed. Especially in the southern part of the country. Our weak link now is Kogi state. No one knows where they belong, unlike Benue that is gradually pitching it's tent with the southerners. |

sapientia:Now be honest with your soul... Who in Nigeria is notorious for extra-judicial killings since before and after the existing of OPC and all other crime-fighting groups? Who would you rather suggest to tackle the menace of kidnappers and sneaky murderers who continue to kill farmers, rape their women, springing out of the bushes to waylaid travelers to be robbed and kidnapped, comitting all manners of crimes across and within various regions of the south? Is it the current crop of corrupt cops who chase after every guys who for all they care are yawu-boys you want, to go after them? or the ones who just, in the name of raiding have you beaten if you dare resist to enter their bus for a thing as ludicrous as staying up late relaxing in front of your house, force people who are slammed with the crime of wandering, and all other ridiculous charges Nigerians have been living wit, all just to have you extorted at their Amøtekun are set up for this, they are people who really want to work while our fiendly poorlice are there to keep on hustling for themselves and their superior as they continue to play hide-and-seek with the likes of Evans and Tom West expecting trasparency international and other similar watchful agency to applaud them with an applauds of high ratings |

sapientia:Yes their lawyers will handle it. Afterall, under the present laws, a private lawyer can handle prosecutions after getting a fiat from the Attorney general. This will ensure speedy dispensation of justice and reduce police interference. Like you know the FG controls the police. In fact the law is that a police man should obey the state Commissioner of police over the governor of the state See s 214 and 215 constitution. |

Why can't they be independent instead of romancing with the federal police who we all know can only obey orders from Abuja? Imagine arresting a Fulani criminal only to hand him to Abuja boys who receives orders from another Fulani. Why can't Amotekun have the powers to arrest and prosecute like the sharia police in the North? Una don fall my hand by turning Amotekun to mere boys scot. |

masterflowx:Well said expect the BBQGRILLS guy part which only offence that I know of is supporting buhari. The guy has a right to chose his leader, and rightfully so, abeg cut the guy some slack. Meanwhile, am an ardent supporter of amotekun, but then my concern is our political class. I wish this outfit won't be used to score political gain and victimize perceive enemies. Most of our laudable ideas has been turn to eventually ruins by leaders who hijack and use them for personal gain. Security is a very sensitive issue, and must be a business of all, but I still have this feeling that some elements within and outside the government will take advantage of the situation and oppress the others. Nothing good has not been comprise as it were now in this country, and I have a feeling this won't be an exception. But if only if, the gods of iron and thunder can be used as a swearing platform to all members then I think we can get the best out of this idea, but if not its just a matter of time before we hear of controversies around the outfit. |
