pickatyou:everybody have power to arrest. If somebody is committing a crime in your present, you can arrest the person and hand him over to security agencies. |

sapientia:God bless you my bro, am not against the formation of the stuff, my fear is the way they will abuse it.You can't give touts, illitrates power and they won't misuse it, I pray it doesn't come to that. It's only those that have not felt the rampage of OPC and some vigilanters that won't understand my fears. |

Lagos, Ogun and Ekiti states are leading the drafting of model bills on the South-West security outfit, Operation AmotekunThe Fulani/Hausa are very difficult people. The rest of Nigeria do not have to wait for them to decide before taking a stand. You claim your right strategically which the south west have done by virtue of AMOTEKUN. If the southern part of Nigeria including the middle belt had to wait for the north to agree to restructuring that will NEVER be. It is already in their BODY LANGUAGE. They do not want restructuring. They want this present ONE NIGERIA statesquo which give an undeserved share to the north which they want to continue to MILK to extinction. One can imagine the negative reaction from political leaders from the core north that greeted the launching of OPERATION AMOTEKUN by the governors of the south west region. While the rest part of the regions accepted the establishment of Amotekun the north were the only people who were against Amotekun. Why will they not reject Operation Amotekun if they were not up to some sinister objectives? The rest of Nigeria must reject in TOTAL the northern agenda which is to exploit the resources of other regions while they keep their own only to themselves. The rest part of Nigeria must reject the views of the likes of Balarabe Musa, Junaid Mohammed, Ango Abdullahi, Ahmed Nasir El Rufai, Tanko Yakassai, Major General Muhammed Buhari ( rtd ) etc which seek to give undue advantage to the north while keeping other regions underdeveloped. The views of this northern political leaders does not represent the Nigeria of the future that we are trying to build. The views of this OLD GENERATION OF POLITICAL LEADERS will only set Nigeria backward in terms of development. |

Which hand over,, won tun deooothey should setup independent courts outside the F.G You will arrest a Fulani herdman abd hand it over to his brother that will secretly release him abi. Seriously modern training should be involved,if they are superb,F.G herself will call on them to unravel serious issues even in North. Independent court and Jail should be built. |

JeffreyD1:I am confused. Is Amotoekun going on as a regional outfit or are they devolving into states? What is the consensus reached with FG? |

There's something wrong with this, but I can't just put my hands to it. They may end up being too powerful to control and become a terror to the people they were created to protect |

tiredoflife:The community police you're excited about was the VP's idea. So, if a bull dog is toothless its still a bull dog you will not wait to find out if it's toothless. That aside, so its when people carry guns they enforce arrest? Its going to result to shootings! Look, they will have their way of arresting criminals. |

my fear is the future of this thing. I'm not saying that Amotekun should not operate. my fear is that they should not turn against the innocent citizens later in the future, or becoming a menace, or used by those stupid politicians to their own advantage. I just pray, it goes positively smooth till eternity. I pray. |

Smartchoiice:why is there no secret anymore? why can't they complete the security formulas and implement it before publishing. why every step go on media, did we know the Hishabab propose laws? even federal constitution is hidden from the citizens why south west can't do their thing secret? |

If this is all the noise about, then it doesn't worth it...because the transfer of a criminal to another acclaimed well trained or most trusted security personnel is in no way a better tool to haul down insecurity in the SW region... |

sapientia:Nigeria is creating militia groups right, left and centre. One day, they will all become uncontrollable and brutal. They created SARS. Now see what it has turned into. Hisbah in the North is something else. Anyway, the idiotic low-level supporters of this proliferation of so called security outfits will be at the receiving end when this new pet grows into a bloodthirsty beast. |

Smartchoiice:Amotekun? Who is going to finance it? Is it Lagos or oil money from South South and South East? If the Yorubas will be fast in buying cars and providing facilities to an illegal organization, I think they should channel same support to the Nigerian police, Army, DSS and see if crime will not disappeared. |
