The affirmation of the sentence by the Supreme Court may sound excessive to some, but not same for many.

I have been unfortunate to have fallen victim to these calibre of persons in Lagos, precisely; stadium bus stop. One can never differentiate between a toy or real him. In an instance, I lost my apple laptop, both phones , my cards and a total sum of 86k.

I watched as the two men jumped on their bike and zoomed away even though so many people were close-by.

Yes! People ran as they saw guns, and I was left at their mercy for less than 2mins.

Many have not been this lucky like me, some losing their lives because of less than 2k.

2k might be small, but many have been killed cos of less the amount.

Immaterial that he stole 2k, this is a clear case of armed robbery which is clearly different from stealing! He was armed guys!

Imagine! Even yahooboys who scam their victims of millions don't receive such jail term but a very poor man who has been frustrated and desperate to survive robbed someone of N2,000 and he was sentenced to 21 years imprisonment..

yahoo boys don't carry guns, weda real or toy to scare people....think and understand the law. go and study what armed robbery is. politicians didn't carry gun to steal. these fools robbed an hardworking bike man and his passengers using a toy gun the victims would have tot was real. if the passenger had a bigger amount of money they would still have robbed him, and if their guns were real dey could have killed him

And somebody like Orji Uzo Kalu got just 12 years for looting billions abi?

This should serve as a lesson to future thieves to endeavour to upgrade to looting billions and trillions so can bribe, influence and make the judgment linger for years to enable them invest their loots before going to jail.

They will become wealthy and live as kings while in prison.

Those judges are corrupt

They are punishing him for not stealing big. At least, he would have had money to bribe the judge to give a milder sentence.

We, humans, are emotional creatures. I don't support the judgment but let us look at it another way.

The men would have been lynched if they had been caught by a mob. Many here condemning the judgment would have had them lynched.

Victims are terrified when robbed and for good reason: many of these robbers are very heartless! Many of their victims have been killed over insignificant amounts.

I don't support stealing under whatever guise but something is really wrong with our justice system. Is the law meant for the poor alone. The self acclaimed high and mighty steal and loot our national treasury on daily basis without recourse. The few among them who were prosecuted were made to pay fine or sentenced to unreasonable jail term. The poor stole a meager amount and got sentenced to 21yrs imprisonment. This is totally absurd and disheartening.

Many opportunities there but here the poor are completely hopeless they treat us like trash then during the election they smileat us with. their dirty and green teeth and try to turn our brains but one day, one day we will cry for our share of flesh and blood.

Too many people speak without reasoning and do not know the laws regarding use of firearms (real or toy) in robberies. The only thing that saved that guy from the gallows is that the gun was eventually found to be a toy. If it was real, he would have got the death sentence.

How could the victims have known it was a toy? Is it until they are shot first before we find out by which time someone would have been dead?

Armed Robbery is more punishable but head Robbery is permitted. Why? This is Nigeria, capital offence attracts little or no punishment but menial offence will lead to the death of the offender.
