How Can She Recover Her Stolen Fund From Fraudsters? by amtheone(m): 7:59am On Feb 04, 2020
Please nairalanders, I need your help. Yesterday(3/2/20) my sister inlaw called to inform me that all the money in her account and that of her mum were all wiped out by fraudsters.

This was what happened, my mother inlaw who is a retired civil servant received a call from an unknown person asking her to give details of her ATM that there is an issue with her account and needed urgent attention. The caller pretended to be a staff of the bank. At that point, she gave the phone number of her daughter who is the one managing her account.

The guy then call her using the same format, she ignorantly gave him all the sensitive details that the criminal needed to execute his evil plan. Surprisingly, she did not only give out only her mum's details but she also gave out her own details. Within a few minutes, all the money in the two accounts were all wiped out.

I remember there was a thread on FP sometimes ago on how one could go about to recover his money under this circumstance. Pls any one with the link should help post it here and any other information that can be of help.

Note: She has reported the case to her bank, but from her bank's response, it seems nothing much can be done.

Mod pls help me move it to the home page.

Thank you.

No Banker or Bank will call you to tell you something is wrong with your account are you the accountant general of the federation? Where your account is been monitored? That format is even way outdated for someone to be swindle, i remember early december last year one fraudster call my dad revealing his name and bank date of birth, and was speaking with so much fluency one will easily believe he is a Bank staff, asking my dad that he has two date of birth that it should be corrected, the old man told him if the DOB, is not making him lose money on his account he shouldn't worry and stay out of it or atleast call other customer that will comply, how do they get this details from one account, i think they might be an insider in the bank doing cooporate crime by giving his subordinate the INFO...Well sorry for your lost, the moniker above me is saying nothin can be done except tracking the number, the fraudsters are clever than that they will never use sim registered with their details, once they succeed in sweeping your account that sim is broken or burnt, and lastly at times they dont even used 11 digit number to call, you see stuffs like 0102537453 or so

But why can't these bank do reversals. Useless efcc is busy raiding hotels instead of fishing out the real criminals

Update:

She has been able to get the phone number of the criminal. She called him this morning and the guy said he is in Ikotun in lagos and that he is going to his herbalist that she can't do anything.

My sister in-law is in Ondo State. I'm asking if she reports to the police in Ondo state, can anything be done about it?

Mod help me move to the front page.

If wiped out by transfer, the receiving account can be traced but if by withdrawal, nothing the bank can do.

Bank has given you all security protocol to safeguard your account and you violated all of them so you can't hold bank responsible

To cut the long story short. Dont waste your time going to npf, efcc,. They will just extort you in the name of investigation. Sadly your money has gone to the wind. Someone sometime scammed me of 15k. Reported to my bank, bank said go the his bank. Went there,go to police station. Went thr,got contacts, disturbing my line with calls, demanding for card, money for fuel, investigation. I just changed number and forgot about the money. Dont worry, karma id always waiting at the corner.

I can't believe this, this trick is the oldest and most popular among scammers tricks. I understand if the old woman is ignorant, what about the daughter? You are not getting anything, tell them to kiss the money goodbye. I won't be surprised if the daughter is one of those shouting marlians up and down.
Naira Marley is a fraudster,he also openly glorifies Yahoo. All of you who supports him in anyway and those on Nairaland who always criticize EFCC when they go after Yahoo boys, this will be your date soon.
Yahoo yahoo is evil,if you support it,one day all your hard earned money will go to scammers IJN,amen.
