Re: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by PDPGuy(op): 2:49am On Nov 17, 2019
Thus far,

- D’Tigress are on a 16-0 run against African opponents

- And are 4 games away from a second Olympic appearance.

I have also noticed that d'tigeress always struggle against zonal defence. Our coach should start searching for good 3 point shooters.

Yes. That’s why the coach brought in Macaulay and Ibekwe. But for some reason, their 3-point shooting is still average. And I also noticed that the 2-point shooting from outside the paint was also bang average. The ladies should keep working on that as well, cos many teams are simply gonna crowd the paint, when facing D’Tigress.
Hughley should keep searching for another 3-point shooter for real.

This is a formidable squad that is good enough to clinch a spot at the Olympics. I’m also impressed that Coach Hughley and the NBBF released the list 2 months ahead of the tournament.

The inaugural Basketball Africa League is set to kickoff in March, with sponsorship coming from the NBA, FIBA, Pepsi and Jordan brand. Twelve teams in total from 12 countries. Rivers Hoops would be representing Nigeria.

It's about damn time Africa had it's own Euro league equivalent.
