A suspected Boko Haram terrorist has been arrested in Plateau State by soldiers attached to the Special Task Force, otherwise known as Operation Safe Haven.

The Commander of the STF, Maj. Gen. Augustine Agundu told journalists in Jos on Tuesday that the suspect identified as Umar Musa Tello was arrested by the troops while loitering Zaruwan village in Bassa Council Area of the state.

The Commander said that preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect fled from Damagun village in Yobe State due to the ongoing operation of Operation Lafiya Dole.

According to him, the suspect further confessed that he was a fighter with the Boko Haram terrorist group for more than three years but decided to abscond the group due to extreme hardship being experienced.

The Commander added, “The terrorist also claimed that his uncle, one Ibrahim, invited him to Abuja to start menial jobs to make ends meet. He said he has denounced the Boko Haram Terrorist Group.

“Tello furthermore explained that some other fighters have equally absconded and dispersed around the FCT Abuja and some went to Plateau State. So we have been able to extract salient information that would guide expert exploitation of his extent of involvement with the Boko Haram Terrorist Group.”

The Commander who also paraded some cultists at the command’s headquarters seized the opportunity to reassure the general public of their resolve and total commitment towards the protection of lives and property across the theatre.

I'm sure he would have jumped on trailer and come to Lagos to be riding okada without knowing his direction , many of those who have escaped had probably found their ways to other states for kidnapping business

the Lagos state government should demolished all illegal shanties , illegal immigrants and boko haram escapees posing as okada riders are too many here, Amotekun has come to stay!!

Ironically, the arrest is a waste of tax payers money. He will still be released into the society to enable him to continue with his "good works".

Buddy Ups’ are people looking for a room who would also be interested in hearing from other room seekers in their area, with a view to possibly forming a group and searching for suitable whole properties to rent. If you are struggling to find exactly what you are looking for this can be a great way of getting your ideal room, with flatmates you like.

I won't be surprised if buhari forgives the Boko Haram fighter and draft him to the Nigeria armed forces tomorrow. The effort of the soldiers Will end up being in vain.

Buhari behaves as if he is supporting the cause of Boko Haram. This is dangerous.

And to think still believes that Boko Haram was sponsored by PDP? , stop making yourself look like an irresponsible fellow.

Buhari has mortgaged the soul of Nigeria to Islamic Terrorist , they are just jumping everywhere like grasshoppers unhindered

The terrorist also claimed that his uncle, one Ibrahim, invited him to Abuja to start menial jobs to make ends meet. He said he has denounced the Boko Haram Terrorist Group.

Imagine he was heading to Abuja to probably be a mai-guard for one innocent southerner with a wife and cute kids .

Please stop hiring these Northerners for any menial job before you go and house a Boko Haram commander

Smh. What's the need? Wasted effort. Tell me the need when we all know they will soon be released to continue their hobby.

It's going to a point when trusting this government means being stupid.
