Let me put it out now

By February/March in 2020 , if the border remains closed and the interest rate (MPR and TB rate dicotomy)remains the same,
the feeling of the economy will be like a recession. The inflation will be high grade

bookmark and quote it.

December (seasonal) consumer spending is just covering it.

This is February

You neee to be definite when talking about statistics.

When did these companies downsize?

Does it mean that there is an economic problem in a country when any company downsizes?

You just can't be throwing imprecise or unproven statements just to back up your point.

I'm not saying your point is not true but you need to prove it.

If someone else says that the companies you mentioned have been recruiting, we would also ask him for the proof

when I spoke on my initial post. I clearly stated that the feeling of the economy will be " like a recession".
so when lots of companies are downsizing it tells you that they are not making sales and or generating revenue.
that means there is reduced consumer spending.
they lay off, this in turn increases the level of unemployment, which further reduces consumer spending.
but the statistics cannot be derived now because aggregate consummation is needed,
companies are downsizing, that's a pointer.
wait for NBS for Oct-Dec 2019 stats. and then Jan -Mar 2020 stats.
