Cant speak for the Redmi though heard they produce good phones.

I'll say you should go for the Samsung, you'll get updates also.
I mean OS update, by July most of their midrange phones will be getting the update to Android 10 also.

A better comparison can be done via gsmarena.

So Samsung and Xiaomi are not fighting against themselves? I thought both brands are superior brands? So between both of them, Xiaomi is fake original? Lol

Both phones are good. It depends on what the buyer really wants in a phone or uses his phone to do.

Personally, I'd go for Samsung. The high quality AMOLED display means a lot to me because I read books a lot on my phone. I rarely take pictures. Besides I have a thing for the brand.

Someone else may prefer Redmi, also a very good phone. Choices and preferences.
