First of all, Natural resources doesn't always automatically transform to economic development without the necessary human capital needed, otherwise Nigeria should have been more developed than most countries in Europe.

Secondly, you are simply decieving yourself by posting the pictures of some of the finest environment in the north.

Every region in Nigeria has really flashy points that can be used as reference of perceived development and affluence but reality is often quite different from perception..

Poverty is evident in the north. Kids beg in the street and majority are living in poverty. The Un has said it, WHO organization has said it.

There's 1 rich person to every 100000 people living poverty in the north.

But don't take my words for it, listen to the admission of some of your Northern monarchs recently and Even Governor Elrufai himself last year.


I understand you may want to change the narrative by trying to push a positive attitude but that does not afford you the opportunity of attacking those who are obviously doing better than you.

Just keep your head down and do your thing.

There's nothing fake about the analysis. It's the same stats cited by the every tier of government. Even when you look at GDP stats the north is behind the south general. The complete list wont be released till October but the facts are evident...

Kano with double the population of most the states above it has a smaller GDP. This is a telling stat line.

I have spoken with handful of those guys and have some Hausa bikemen as friends because they stay at my building in the centre of ibadan.

A number of them comes from Kebbi, Zamfara and Kastina

I understand what Arrewa is trying to do, he’s trying to set some narratives right about the North coz they’ve constantly been abused by the south and I feel his grievances.

There was a girl I chatted with on Facebook, she is from Kaduna and she was the first northerner I’ll ever chat with online. When I asked her tribe, she was scared to tell me she was Fulani. This is the exact words she said “Will you stop talking to me if I tell you I’m Fulani”?

Those words broke my heart and I understood the magnitude of the mental pressure on those guys and if Arrewa is trying to at least give them a form of pride, I think we should just let them be.

However, Arrewa should understand that development encompasses all and it will be outrightly absurd to compare the North will the south currently. In all metrics of comparison, the North do not stand a chance.

How you will know this is that right from inception, the North has always been a burden to the south which made Lugard recommended the amalgamation of the North with the profitable south.

North singlehandedly contributed and still contributing to the bad statistics about Nigeria, Poverty Index, insecurity, Diseases, illiteracy, out of school children, child marriages, and etc to mention a few.

You need not engage in the game of comparing the SW to the North, coz it will just be like a futile waste of time. Where do we even start the comparison?
