Good evening NLs.

Sorry to bother you with the following questions..

1. How can I study with Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply?

Log onto www.cips.org and register as a student member. Registration costs 100pounds and is valid for 1 yr. You can start from the Diploma level if you have the requirements for that.

2. Is there any center in Nigeria?

There are two options: Self-study, and study through an accredited centre. Accredited centres are Harley Reed, Onitsha business school, etc. I believe they charge as low as N80,000 per course and their are 8 courses for the diploma level.

3. Is lectures online or physics appearance?
If you decide to use the self-study option, you do not need to go to classes. You can buy the text books online and study for yourself. You will still need to buy the textbooks if you pay 80k for the training.

You can also book for your exams online, chose any venue you want (Lagos, Ph, Abj) and the convenient day for you. Ideally, you can comfortably write 2 courses per exam month and finish the diploma level in 8 months since the exams come up everyother month rather than every month. But if you have more capacity, you can do 3 per exam month
.

Thank you in anticipation of your favorable responses.

Ideally, if you do self-study and buy the textbooks, you will spend roughly N350 - N400k for the diploma level. It could be less if you have access to the books or rebuy at cheaper rates. Advanced diploma will cost within the same range since it is same number of courses and exams. Professional diploma stage...well, you can ask about that one later. The good thing is that you can do all these by yourself, via the website, using your ATM card for all payments, exam bookings, buying text books, etc.

Hello Adekanbi. .
To answer your questions;
1. I ll advise you go to www.cips.org for more info on registration and BC no longer registers;

Can you advise on what level I start from. No prior qualification in procurement or purchasing logistics. I do have BSC Admin/Master Mkt Mgt

One of the reasons a lot of professionals are reluctant to begin their CIPS journey is the prohibitive costs of both the exams and the materials

For example, materials for the Diploma Level (L4) alone will cost two hundred and twenty pounds (220), while the exams themselves (8 modules) cost at least five hundred and forty-four pounds (544). Imagine having to expend same costs for L5 and L6, as well, to get the MCIPS designation, and you will understand why there is a shortage of CIPS-qualified Procurement Professionals in Nigeria.

While little (we will tell you how we can help) can be done about the exam costs themselves, we can actually help you achieve significant cost-savings on the materials.

We can provide you with the materials for the 8 modules for L4 at four thousand naira (4,000) each. The materials will come in PDF format that is printable and compatible with all PDF document readers.

For getting materials from us, you will be entitled to the following perks:

1. Registration of student membership (if you are just starting out) and booking of exams at least twenty naira less the prevailing card dollar rate. For example, if the dollar rate for the day is four hundred and forty naira per dollar, we will do your registration and exam booking at an average of four hundred and ten naira per dollar. The idea is to reduce the cost implication of writing the CIPS exams. You can benefit from this perk even if you dont get materials from us. Terms and Conditions apply

2. You will get access to a mini-mentorship programme. I have nearly 6 years experience in supply chain and corporate business operations. I have also written two of the CIPS exams and i am billed to write more in March. So, i am quite versed with the structure and content of the CIPS exams. The mini-mentorship programme will include the following

- Providing answers to all your burning questions as regards the nature, structure, timeline and milestones of the CIPS exams and certifications.

- Reveal a timeline with which you can structure your exams so that you can make the most of your registration costs and get your certifications in record time, if you are on a tight budget and schedule

- Revision of materials and provision of AOC prior to examinations
