Opinion : Can Yaribaa people halt attack to Nnamdi Kanu if he joins Joins Tinubu in APC?
I would have cast this off with the waive of a hand. But, my many years of experience in politics and life has taught me that truly NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE. For instance, if you knew Comrade Adams Oshiomhole in his NLC days, you will almost find it difficult to believe that it's the same Oshiomhole who became the Governor of Edo State and subsequently, the Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC). To some extents, the same applies to persons like Godswill Akpabio and Festus Keyamo. These are people who were known for criticizing everything APC is known for to the high heavens but are now receiving the butt from the people for the same 'crimes' they once criticized. Obviously, APC has got the wand for winning people over. But, can they really succeed on Nnamdi Kanu also?

According to a tip I received from a top APC chieftain on the condition of anonymity, "Nnamdi Kanu is top priority to us now. We want him as a member of our party, and we must get him".

When I asked the source why they want the separatist leader so much, he said: "Our government has used a force on him but it seems to boomerang. The more we use force on him, the more he gives us a bad name through his international activities. The worst is that we keep making him a hero in the eyes of the world. Take the recent US ban on the country, for example. I tell you, Nnamdi Kanu practically contributed 98% to the visa ban through his internationally reported incendiaries against the country. If we must be fair, the Buhari-led administration is not half as bad as it is portrayed in the eyes of the world but for the mudslinging activities of the young man and his IPOB. So, if we can't force him, our next agenda is to make him our friend".

How possible can this be? I tried to visualize a picture of Nnamdi Kanu as an APC member but all I saw was a blank slate. So, I asked my source how they intended to pull off this feat. Hear him: "All we are going to do is to offer him what he wants. Since you want Biafra and only Biafra, why not come and work with us on how to get what you want? You can't get it without working closely with the government of the day. You can't get it by staying aloof. You can't just have a new nation carved out without ironing out some serious issues first. And you can't do this by staying away. In fact, we have agreed that the referendum he has been asking for is going to be a major part of our manifesto for 2023 Presidency. It's not wise of us to continue to be high-handed while losing our diplomatic ties to Nnamdi and his IPOB".

"And what if he refuses your offer?" I asked. "We would make sure that our offer is made publicly to attract international attention. So, if he refuses, we are going to use it against him in international politics. If he ever complains, we'd say, but we've offered you a blank cheque on how to get your referendum but you rejected it".

"What if he accepts, will you fulfill your promise to him?" I asked again. "Well", my source continued, "we have to admit that breaking up the country is a difficult matter. So, we'd first try to use the opportunity to sell the idea of restructuring to him. His response will determine what happens afterward. But, believe me, he will accept that because all he wants is contained in restructuring".

Honestly, this is a big one that I can't handle alone. So, I need your views here. Do you think that this will work? Is it really possible. And if they succeed, how will PDP handle this?

Even though it is impossible for him to smear himself in Nigerian politics.

The point is that we know Nnamdi Kanu has nothing to offer anyone other than to make noise.....he can join APC or whatever, it makes no damn difference.

We know a self serving opportunist when we see one and Nnamdi Kanu is clearly one of such.

Of course, they will not only stop the attack,they will love him.
you will start hearing things like.....IPOB should move on,Nnamdi kanu have already moved on.
