Why bother about the campaigning when there is a proven rigging machinery on ground that guarantees that the ruling party in a state gets to keep all the LG seats?

Or isn't that the modus operandi in Nigeria any more?

PDP State---> all PDP house of Assembly and all PDP LGs.

APC---> same thing.

Money expended on LG elections should instead be used for more purposeful ventures. Appoint the chairmen, avoid dumping public funds into a useless process.

APC is factionalized in Enugu state, therefore, don't expect them to win even ward councilor.

It will be interesting to see a sitting governor organize a free and fair election for the LGAs. I am impressed to see this governor campaigning for his party. Somehow, it shows he wants the election to be open, unlike what is obtainable in some states, whereby LGA chairmanship is seen more or less as a political appointment for the sitting governor.
