No, we want total separation and breakdown. In mighty name of Jesus Christ, Nigeria shall break apart. Yoruba go their way, Hausa and Igbo follow. |

So what the old boy is saying is that Yorubas are tired of fighting (swinging of hands), and are now begging for unity (putting hands on the head) (following his willingness to fight for unity till he dies). I think Obasanjo is a clever idio,t. You can not fight for unity or beg for unity. Unity is about Justice and fair play. |

I respect OBJ immensely for his ability to choose talented and capable people to work with. Despite much pressure to select political acolytes. He managed to sneak in a few good ones: NOI, Akunyili, Lesley Obiora, Ribadu and others. But he failed to restructure the country after 8 years. He wanted to be in the good books of the North. To remain politically relevant after leaving office. A more selfless person would have put the country first and restructure. Other Southern politicians now in corridors of power want to remain relevant too. Or even have a shot at the presidency. So Tinubu, Fayemi, Oshiomhole, Okorocha or any other Southerner would equally be selfish like OBJ was. Then lament that we should restructure after leaving office. |

The ambiguity of the word restructuring, what exactly are we restructuring? are we going to cancel state and move back to regionalism or we would allow non viable states to die of starvation without resources? |

Truth, it's time to restructure this country. neither the common man in the north nor south is better off with the current structure, except few greedy politicians. Please let us elect 6 Vice Presidents per zone to manage her resources, and pay 10% of her income to central just to maintain military, supreme court, embassies and other few national programs like sport. Collapse house of representatives to zones and Senators to be maintained by his or her zone. Also operate only local governments because state Governor's offices is only for embezzlement. |

Restructuring will be a soft landing for Nigeria because the country's fault lines are widening by day. The diversity of this nation was not managed well by the government in power. Insurgency and banditry is also on the increase. If people's confidence level in government is waning, then be sure that their resolve for self determination is on the increase. |
