The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed the application filed by Emeka Ihedioha to review the judgement on the Imo State Governorship election.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, who delivered the lead judgement said there is no constitutional provision for the apex court to sit on appeal over its own judgement.

He ruled that the court does not have the competence to review it's own judgement, stressing that the finality of the Supreme Court is entrenched in the Constitution, so that the inherent powers of the court does no… https://www.thenewsguru.com/features/politics/article/breaking-supreme-court-gives-reasons-for-dismissing-ihediohas-application-for-review/

We don't expect the Supreme court which is the highest court in the land to review a case which judgement has been passed already. that will only portray the judges as incompetent and lacking in merit.

Are they not incompetent and lacking in merit to give such a decision in the usual guise of technicalities without thinking it through?

What they have just said is that there was no review at all. They simply wasted tax payer money after making the greatest blunder in the judicial history of electoral litigation.

The Supreme Court boxed itself into a tight corner. That is why they are even ashamed of penalizing the PDP lawyers as they did for that of Bayelsa. They knew they grossly goofed in the judgement they passed in Imo and they tactfully wriggled themselves out of the mess by claiming that the judgement of the supreme court is final.

What a shame! The harm has been done and Nigeria will surely face some challenges in the international market and politics.

Bunch of mathematically deficient Judges.

In essence there was no review.

The Injustice is still glaring and will continue to hunt all you supreme Court Injustices save for justice Nweze who cited instances in UK, Australia etc for review.

These errors in gown exploited the Constitution lacuna to sell judgement to APC.

Even when a clear error has been committed, akin to a fraudulent judgement?
It's like endorsing criminality.
So any big money bag can settle 6 SC justices to deliver a fraudulent judgement, knowing that no matter how obvious the fraud,it cannot be reviewed by them, claiming a shallow and nonsensical finality of their judgement.
This is indeed a zoo.

Some of you will be typing trashes because you have access to data. Which international market are you referring to, is it Alábá international market or Ọja Ewi International market?

So if the Supreme Court sentences someone to death and a new strong evidence comes up exonerating the person, this is what these bunch of fools will be saying? Gush! For all those in support of these proclamations, Let all your situations in life be judged as the Supreme Court just did. Amen

If that is the case, why are they accepting to sit for a review when they know the judgement is final.

The Truth is, there is Law and there is Justice. Both do not mix. While Justice is an expression of a society's conception of morality, Law is rather the expression of the balance of power at a given point in time. This is how Slavery had a legal structure: not because it was just (or it reflected any justice) but because the balance of power was in favour of the slave masters.

In the case of Bayelsa and Imo states, Buhari and his cabals took into consideration the balance of power and chose to sacrifice Bayelsa State in order to keep Imo State. By sacrificing Bayelsa, Buhari killed 2 birds with one stone: preventing the opposition from claiming the court only support APC and at the same time giving GEJ a deep hurting blow damaging thus his aura and legacy. In the meantime the current regime keeps Imo State which is critical for its future goals and ambition.

Until you understand the game you can't be a winner.

The african Mentalist.

Are they saying that the Supreme is perfect and cannot pass a judgement in error as was the clear case in Ihedioha's

Even the white that introduced this court cannot be this adamant in the face of justice

A common man should get justice and not injustice from the court!!!

In western countries , there is always a review, of cases by their supreme court's, once there is a new evidence , especially in murder cases, where a convict is serving a long term.
