I lost hope in WAEC when they issued certificate of participation Sitting Secondary School certificate to Jubril Bubu.

In Bubu's certificate, WAEC died.

Before 2018, WAEC used to conduct two examinations.... WASSCE May/June (popularly called WAEC) and WASSCE Nov/Dec (popularly called GCE) The Nov/Dec GCE is meant for students who write the exams in mufti dress. However this particularly GCE is called WASSCE conducted in 2020 between Jan and Feb and it is meant for only the SS3 students in their school uniforms and who have not written WASSCE May/June

Thanks for the clarification....
It means the exams are now three times in a year;
1.WASSCE- Jan/Feb
2.WASSCE- May/June
3.WASSCE-Nov/Dec...which is GCE.

Interesting!!!!

So students are at liberty to go for either
Jan/Feb, or May/June batch...

It's now even more flexible. A student can register for the three batches or two....

I am so shocked that quite a few people don't know what private candidate means? These are those who sit for WAEC that has nothing to do with any secondary school. It is actually designed for those who have finished their secondary school or didn't attend one wants to obtain the certificate. Those in secondary school who are interested can also write but your school has no business with it. It is also known as GCE (General Certificate of Examination). It is usually written around Nov /December. In years back, those preparing for their school cert take it as a mock exam. Some even make their complete paper before they sit for their WAEC.

The only thing I don't like about it is that you can be posted to any state to take the exam. It wasn't so in our days.

Jan/Feb is also called GCE but for uniformed SS3 students. Normally Schools register their students for WASSCE May/June (compulsory) but the GCE Jan/Feb is optional

There is high indication that February salary Of university workers will be delayed till further notice following a circular that emanating from various universities.Workers are groaned as a result of non payment of February salary. No reason was given for the salary delay
