LASG Launches 'one Community At A Time ' Initiative In Badagry by rodeo0070(op): 9:09pm On Mar 03, 2020
The Lagos State government has launched a new initiative called "One Community At A Time" to meet the specific needs of the communities at the grassroots by proffering lasting solutions to their needs.

Speaking at the inauguration of the initiative being supervised and coordinated by the office of the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Folasade Jaji stated that five communities have been earmarked for the programme starting with Gbaji in Badagry.

Others include Oke Ogun in Epe, Egan and Ijedodo in Alimosho and Ebute Metta in Lagos.
The SSG explained that the vision of the present administration for the 'One Community at a Time' initiative is to turn a virgin community into a city, through the gradual development and provision of adequate infrastructures for the inhabitants.

Responding to the request for the provision of potable water, Mrs. Jaji made reference to her first visit where the appeal was initially made for clean water, explaining that a technical team had already been to the community to inspect the area and efforts are ongoing to provide clean, drinkable water.

Other requests made by the indigenes include the construction of a Secondary School at Gbyaji, construction of Community Link Road, provision of electricity and the completion of Owode Road among others.

Dignitaries present at the event include Mr. Dayo Israel, representative of LASUBEB, TPL Oladimeji Animashaun from Ministry of Planning, and Mr. Okunnu Shehu, member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, among others.
