American heavyweight boxer, Deontay Wilder has triggered the rematch clause in the fight contract he signed with the newly-crowned WBC champion Tyson Fury.
The action is happening barely two weeks after he was soundly beaten by the Briton. Deontay Wilder who is arguably one of the hardest punchers in heavyweight boxing history was dropped twice by Fury self-styled the Gypsy King before his corner threw in the towel.

Now, the greatest challenge before Deontay Wilder is that he doesn’t seem to know why he lost the fight. He blamed his co-trainer, Mark Breland for stopping the fight prematurely while he was still on his feet taking a beating.

He apportioned some blames to the referee for alleged poor officiating and also ridiculously claimed that his ring-walk costume which weighs 40 pounds weakened his legs. He has refused to trace the reasons for the defeat to himself and this is a grave challenge.


The first step of solving a problem is admitting that there is one. When Anthony Joshua lost to Andy Ruiz in June, 2019, he congratulated the Mexican-American and moved on without making excuses. It was later revealed after the rematch that Joshua was sick before the fight.

Before the loss, Joshua admitted indirectly that he had some vulnerabilities when he started speaking to some trainers to join his head trainer, Rob McCkracken.
