To my understanding, the then purpose of these rulers was to mediate and settle disputes between aggrieved parties, makes laws, and pronounce judgement in cases of a breach in the laws. These were needed then to put communities in order. However, now we have a government that does what these traditional rulers used to do, in wider coverage that not only the 'subjects' have a say, they also can critique and work their way in.

To this end, my point is, government is here to replace the old form (tradition) of governing with a better structure. What then is the use of these traditional rulers that I can take my case to, nor can they pronounce judgement, neither can they make laws. I can even contest their decision in court and win. Or are they duly recognized in our constitution?

Someone should please enlighten me

To be honest, they are very very useless in this country. Possibly, they exist because of traditional sake.

Because I personally believe Femi Fani-Kayode has impacted positively in the Yoruba land than Ooni of Ife.
