Binikingdowm:
stop comparing nonsense kingdom with the benins.

You expect the oldest monarchy in the world to bow down to stupid civilian democracy nonsense
I can see that u binis are really very proud of ur culture and ur king but the reality on ground is that the edo state governor has been empowered by the Nigerian constitution to dethrone ur revered oba if he so wishes for the fact that no edo state governor has ever done it before doesn't actually means it can not be done. If the number one king in Nigeria which is the sultan of sokoto can easily be dethroned by the govt why can't also the oba of benin?
You bini people should stop worshipping ur oba like a demi god we only have only one true God who created everything including ur oba if ur culture and ur oba is all that superior and powerful as u people always want the whole world to continue to believe ur oba and ur bini kingdom wouldn't have been fallen to the british in the 18th century and also to ojukwu and his biafran soldiers in 1967 during the civil war.

so long as queen of England is not inferior to prime minister of England...you can say "republic" all you want and you can write as many constitutions as you want, you just can't change facts. The Oba of Benin is one of the Kings who signed Nigeria into existence alongside the sultan of sokoto, the alafin of Oyo, the obong of Calabar and the emir of Kano. Fact will always remain fact. And in case you are unaware, the current Constitution recognized the Previous Kings Of just talked about. I can see how it hurts you, so please go hug a transformer.
Fact check ur oba wasn't amongst the kings that signed the almagamation document.

Traditional leaders don suffer for this country.

Anytime I remember how Wike insulted one of kings in Rivers by calling him a small boy with 'dan fodio' hat, I laugh to stupor. grin grin

They attend state functions, governors insult them, they refuse to attend, you threaten to dethrone them. Which kain life? huh

Nobody say the governor is not empowered to.dethrone any traditional ruler within his domain but the thing be say make the oba try am with the likes oba of Benin...dem no dey tell person...!!

When the wahala start on the governor I hope the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria would also protect the governor from receiving multitude slaps from invincible hands along with other things one can't even imagine...

Leave all that ur juju u people should just pray that you don't elect a very radical governor some day who don't give a damn about the efficacy ur juju. If ur oba's juju is all that very powerful why couldn't he use it to stop the british from conquering his kingdom and banishing him in the 18th century?

How can you say that our Obas Kings (started calling themselves Kings only after the place was colonized)

Didn't you research to find out that Africa, including our revered Oba of benin had their kingship, customs and traditions before the coming of the colonia overlords to desecrate our indigenous traditions.
