By the grace of God I can go to any other country I want. But US visa is important to me cos o father kind of job I do.

Are you planning to work in U.S? if that's the case apply for immigrant visa and stop wasting money on Non immigrant visa.

Isn't it stated in your DS160 you were married? The VO asking how you both are related shows there was a lot of doubt and suspicion on your application.

What kind of job do you do, and why is a Visit Visa important to it?

That's a rude VO too if I may add. No need to be offensively impolite

And how do I reschedule my interview date?

https://ng.usembassy.gov/message-for-u-s-citizens-reopening-of-consular-section-at-u-s-consulate-general-lagos/

The consular section of the U.S. Consulate General Lagos will reopen on March 17 for both visas and American Citizen Services (ACS). Please note that consular functions at the U.S. Embassy in Abuja were never affected and will continue as usual.
We regret the inconvenience this unanticipated interruption of service in Lagos caused.
ACS applicants with cancelled appointments should go online to schedule a new appointment.
Visa applicants with cancelled appointments between March 11 and March 16 will be contacted by the Consulate for rescheduling.
Visa and ACS applicants with scheduled appointments for March 17 and after should come to the Consulate as usual.

Hello Cinammon. my congratulations to you. Wish I was in your shoes with the whole process already successfully behind me smiley
I will be applying together with my wife. Did your husband act as your sponsor? Our salary figures are the same as yours so I am wondering whether I need to sponsor my wife. In the past she has applied as self sponsor but since we are applying together I wonder. Since we got married we have taken every overseas trip together but we have both applied separately in the past and been granted US visas at least 3ce each but this is the first time our renewals are coming up at the same time.
Responses from the house in general are also much welcome and appreciated
Hi John. Thankss! I filled myself as sponsor on my DS-160 and my Husband as sponsor for himself and our Child. I had always filled my Husband as sponsor in the past but i just thought to change it (coming from a denial stand point i felt that that would demonstrate financial capability or 'ties' sort of). But again, i dont think that it would be a deal breaker either ways especially for you guys since its your first time applying together and no denial before.

Not at all. When you are in the oil and Gas industry especially when you deal on smart tools for drilling and completion operations. You will have to be frequenting Houston at some point in time.

We are married but my wife passport still carried her maiden name. To be honest i wanted to go for Offshore technology conference but ever since they denied a full board of some indigenous company(Name i wouldnt mention) that applied as a group going for OTC, i had to change strategy to visit visa

I was to attend a meeting in the US but due to the Pandemic the meeting has been cancelled till 2021. The interview is slated soon please my question is
Should I still proceed for the interview for a visa to be used in 2021 by God’s grace or Cancel to reschedule at a later time since the event for the interview has been moved to next year?

Visa fee paid? Appointment scheduled? You have the new date of the event in 2021? If yes then go ahead with the interview and explain the change of date to the VO...b visas are valid for 2 years!

Don’t just move with this single comment, wait for others to comment and decide!
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by mialate: 8:35am On Mar 18, 2020
@UhnNah thanks for the response.
Visa Fee has been paid, Appointment scheduled as well. The new date for the event is in May 2021 but for now there is no particular date in view but always comes up every year towards the end of May.

Go for your interview as scheduled. Not your fault. VO will understand. MRV non refundable so you don't have the option of backing out

A bit of clarity needed in your post

Where is your mum's location
Where is your dad's location
Was the different location selected at booking appointment or filling DS160

I don't think you can book or hold a booking for 1 year o!
Maybe you go with the booking and cancelled booking printouts.

Expected.

It's time the whole world isolate in silos. That's the best way to minimize spread. That's when self quarantine can be effective. That's when treatment by care can work.

Dear Applicant,

As of March 18, 2020, the United States Embassy and Consulate in Nigeria is cancelling routine nonimmigrant visa appointments. We will resume routine visa services as soon as possible but are unable to provide a specific date at this time.

The MRV fee is valid and may be used for a visa application in the country where it was purchased within one year of the date of payment.
If you have an urgent matter and need to travel immediately, please follow the guidance provided at https://ustraveldocs.com/ng/ng-niv-expeditedappointment.asp to request an emergency appointment.

Sincerely

Help Desk
