One singular reason many people buy Toyota is cos there's always a market for it. If you are not thinking in that direction, buy a more recent car.

The durability of a vehicle depends on the way the owner handles it...

As for me, go for Elantra. Look for American spec. It' s far better than 2009 corolla.
