The Kwara State Government has said it would be shutting down schools in the state from Monday, March 23, 2020. A statement on Wednesday by Rafiu Ajakaye, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, said it was part of the efforts and measures to contain the global spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in the state.

He urged people in the state to always maintain the highest level of personal hygiene and remain calm. “Adhere to all safety measures earlier announced by the Kwara State Ministry of Health and other national health bodies,” he stated.

I think schools shouldn't be the first place to be shut down, children are at lesser risk than adults, so why closing schools and not Government Houses?

Virus trail already in Lagos, Oyo, Ekiti, Enugu, Katsina... definitely might go round soon. And you see why these people are taking fire brigade approach now, closing borders when it's too late, closing schools and churches? Because it obviously means that SOME PEOPLE that had CONTACT with the INFECTED that were allowed to enter into the country can't be TRACED. Medicine after Death. My life is in God's hands at this point. This Buhari regime and its accompanying state governments are just disasters.

Reports from italy and france say different. Young people are in the ICU too. Plus it is about no spreading it. Children are germy little diseases vectors who will catch it at school and take it home to grandma who may not survive. This is a community issue. Grandma will take it to the market...do you see where this is going?

Children are germ carriers. For some reasons it doesnt attack them....its parents they take the germs to at home that fall sick.

You forget children can take it home to adults especially the vulnerable elderly.

IF ONLY BUHARI HAD CLOSED OUR BORDERS LONG AGO LIKE EVERYONE WAS BEGGING HIM TO DO...

They even refused to institute even ordinary mandatory quarantine of people from hot zones - it is a crime against humanity!
