Akwa Ibom State Gov Mr. Udom Emmanuel has on Monday, March 16, 2020, signed into regulation the State’s Anti-Cultism Bill 2020.

This is as section of the government’s dedication to to put an cease to the incessant instances of cultism and cult associated things to do in the state.

Udom who made this acknowledged to the public thru his media aide, stated following the rising case of insecurity and restlessness by using the youths of Akwa Ibom State, in particular youths in secondary and tertiary institutions, it has emerge as fundamental for the government of the state, to take drastic steps to make sure that this unusual style is checkmate and curbed.

While signing the Order into regulation at the State’s Government House, Uyo, the governor took out time to enumerates the outlawed Cult corporations and secret society which his administration has determined to proscript from the state.

Including the; Vikings, , KKK, Buccaneers, Mafia, Luttox(Junior ), Debam, Sewell, Icelanders, Red Skins, Pirates, Amoc, Akwa Marines, Black Cross, Italian Mafia, Temple of Eden, Black Braziers, Black Eye, Clansmen, Scavengers, King Cobra, Utoto Group, Predators and St. Stephen.

According to the governor, the Order will be mentioned as “Cultism and different Violent Behaviour (Prohibition) Order 2020”, and it shall come into impact today, the sixteenth day of March, 2020.

However, with the signing of the Anti-cultism Order into law, the governor emphasised that “any cult crew or societies whose things to do and modus operandi resembled that of a secret cult, is hereby declared unlawful, unlawful and forthwith proscribed in Akwa Ibom State”.
