Rivers State Governor, Barr.Nyesom Wike, has got an order from the National Industrial Court, barring the organised labour in the state from embarking on an indefinite strike action.

Bittertruth Media recalls the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC and its affiliate unions in Rivers State had threatened to commence industrial action this Monday.

However, the State Government which labour accused of highhandedness, failure to pay the new national minimum wage, pensioners and poor welfare of workers among other grievances surprisingly used the instrumentality of the judiciary to desperately stop labour from continuing with its earlier threatened strike.

It is unclear if the organised labour in Rivers State will obey the court order and stop its planned strike.

As at press time, labour was yet to react to the court order which was secured Monday evening.

The government should do more to help labour.
But its unthinkable that Labour will want to go on strike at this critical situation.
