I believe it will help for 2 reasons:

1. President said in his speech they are adopting model used by countries that have managed to curtail this thing - East Asia.

2. Government taking instruction from the local CDC. They did the maths, came up with projections, etc etc.

I must say though that I think there will be some kind of extension to the lockdown
