Fear Symptoms (coronavirus Advice For Nairalanders) by Roycemadeit(m): 5:15pm On Mar 26, 2020
For hours now, I have remained in my room, locked and staring into a future that may never be, replaying that day I met with King over and over again just so I am sure of my status, yet none of these had me more apprehensive than the fear of having brought it home.

My mind had been on the race track even before I felt any different. I dare say I expected it. Unfortunately when it knocked, I cringed in fear and all my powerful declaration of the words of faith melted at a cough.

I could have declined to see him had he not promised to give me more than enough to last for as long as the “holiday” would if he could only see me one more time.

Armed with packs of hand sanitizers and gloves, a box of face-masks and a smile as fat as my account, I embraced you and mom. Dad raised an eyebrow over what I had come home from school with, and that as you are aware is not unusual of him.

A few days later, King requested we met again. Of course, he was coughing but that was not out of the ordinary, nothing else was strange, except that when I touched his back it felt warm. I only thought it was because of what we just did. Until the day before yesterday when we spoke over the phone, I was not disturbed. He kept coughing incessantly, obviously, the antibiotics he has been using for days now have had no positive effect. After getting off the call, I tremblingly searched the net for the early signs of the virus.

I have begun coughing, my chest feels hot. And I feel feverish. I am so sure my greed and carelessness have brought corona-virus home with me.
