TheChameleon:You should read to understand and assimilate.. but no, you defence mechanism is geared towards a made up mindset of something cynical which obviously made you not see it. if you see tribalism in that comment, then you just might be the tribalistic person and have a lot inside you which might have prompted your jogging. Thank you for according me 40, an IQ of 40 at my age is a compliment.. one wonders how the poverty insult got into the discuss, which only goes to show you are aggrieved the attack was dispelled before the thread takes a notion which is not common with a region like helinues tried to. Do have a wonderful day.. happy isolation. |

helinues:Read again the writer report on East. That is a mass movement which has nothing to do with party A or B, politics or religion colouration. When the people want to move they do it massively. Meaning the East can be ethnic but flexible in nature. |
| Re: Religion Moves The North, Politics Moves The West, Ethnicity Moves The East by helinues: 7:21am On Mar 31, 2020 |
Kingspin:There is no flexibility with East if we are to go by this report. Putting all your eggs in one basket is not flexibility but Rigidity |

helinues:Go back and read the writer report well. The writer uses the Biafra scenario to ascertain his view(movement). Putting what and what in a basket? |

Esseite:Am from the East fam,yes the above mentioned figures for for equity & fairness to include thier region but still the East is riddled with tribalisim .it's been imbed in this new generations blood by thier ancestors over time ,let's stop hiding it under the periscope of unity, there r beta ways to unite.not this.infact the tribalisim in the East is so hot that it melts into the Heart of thier learned ones.thet succum because the don't want to be outcasts to thier state of origin.inthe end, every one will eventually go back to his & in every setting, it's the the school of tot wit the more number to ppl that rules...the op is point on wit his analysis cos twas never hidden |

Yoruba boy that will jump on a thread with igbos on his lungs, kidney brain Yoruba will continue dia dick measuring with your igbos, while the great Igbo nation will keep soaring Igbos have no competitors but themselves They will deny it online .. but deep down .. They know the this truth |

HMarshal:Yes everyone all have some atom of tribalism in them, it's natural.. but tribalism cannot be common with a people whom trade, learn, interact with other cultures far and wide to make a living majorly.. If you are talking about political tribalism, when you check the elective stats of leaders and votes, you would agree with me tribalism is not even close. what may have prompted the new generation political tribalism can be ascribed to the political imbalance of the country which borders on equity and fairness. |

sarrki:I found some errors in this write up, for instance, Katsina state was never part of Kano state, it was part of Kaduna. Secondly, if you read closely what he said, you'd realize that ethnicity drives the Yoruba people, he only drew those links to politics it becomes obvious when he made mention of the 'omoluabi' 3, Ethnicity isn't only what drives the Eastern region, ethnicity is part of it, but not the whole story, communal (family) interests drives the Igbo man, the Igbo man's perception of community has changed alot and now I can say that he perceives the community as his immediate family or cla(a narrower perception) Not necessarily his entire ethnicity. To further buttress my point on ethnicity in the East, I would draw to the fact that the first mayor of Enugu city was a Fulani man. This article has flaws. |

helinues:After this covid case go and enrol in any community school to be educated again. Read again let me break it for you If the Oba of Benin or the Obi of Onitsha had been deposed and banished for speaking against poverty, street children, low illiteracy rate and inequality in their domains or because of perceived political differences with the governor, it would have created an uproar in Edo and Anambra states respectively, with other neighbouring states speaking fiercely condemning the governor. In fact, the governor would not even contemplate deposing such a traditional ruler over such seemingly petty issues for fear of the consequences. An extreme action like that could only arise if the traditional leader is accused of a serious criminal offence like robbery, fraud, kidnapping, or any action that is deemed as bringing his office to disrepute. However, when it comes to politics, the South-West is least tolerant of dissenting views in Nigeria. That is why the political violence that happened in the First Republic tagged Operation Wetie could not have happened in any other part of Nigeria except the South-West. A Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe from the East can be the presidential candidate of the Nigerian People’s Party while his kinsman Dr Alex Ekwueme is the vice presidential candidate of the NPN under Shagari. Such cannot cause any conflict. It is the same in the North. In the South-West, there is usually one mainstream party to which every “true Yoruba” or omoluabi is expected to belong. Any other party is seen as the party of saboteurs, and anybody who belongs to it is viewed harshly and is hardly ever forgiven. Anytime a South-West state is not controlled by that mainstream party, all is not seen as being well until that state is brought back to the fold. The unwritten law is that when it comes to politics, all South-West states must be controlled by the mainstream party of the South-West. Anything to the contrary is seen as an aberration. Read and enrol back to school |

helinues:So is the West, ethnicity moves the west almost as much as the old Eastern region, of course not to such a great extent as the east however, but if you read where he writer wrote about the omoluabi, you'd see the ethnic undertone in his points, he didn't see the undertone in his own writing. Infact, ethnicity moves every region in Nigeria, I've lived in Abuja and I've noticed that smaller ethnic groups like igbira often try to blend into the hausa so that they will be more accepted. If ethnicity didn't move the North, then Muslim Yoruba would be greatly accepted, but that isn't exactly the case is it.? |

Esseite:I wish twas only that bro, leme ask u a question.a honest answer will be perfect.y can't many men from the East marry a lady from the West (Yoruba precisely),without having a devided contentment from his tribesmen? & Wat wuld u call that? |

helinues:Writer told us Yoruba people are always forced and coerced to follow one human and party.. Like they don’t have mind of their own.. Imagine sophisticators ! See fear make the Yoruba op use ethnicity of igbos .. imagine Yoruba fear igbos die... the thought of Biafra or igbo President can kill an average Yoruba man That fear is what making Yoruba shout.. Igbo can’t be president.. The only tribe in Nigeria with that mantra.. Fear and insecurity of Yoruba is based on hatred for igbos.. take igbos away and see Yoruba man grow fat.. Is normal .. even awo insecurities is fear of Igbo presidency or an Igbo nation.. Funny enough they’ve always been used in the contraption against their wish All hail Jagaban the grand commander of Yoruba land. |

HMarshal:I think ure made to believe so...... At least in your life time in this country, you must have heard this statement.... IGBOS ARE NOT UNITED this is due to- an Igbo does his things base on who favours him not by MY BROTHER....infact I can boldly say IGBOS LEARNT TRIBALISM AFTER THEY SAW WHAT OTHER TRIBES WERE DOING |

HMarshal:Yes you can, but previous instances and multi ethnic wars has shown quite a lot of families that marriage may not necessarily mean acceptance as it goes beyond the couple in some regions. If some folks frown at religious differences of the spouse (those who take it extreme), talk more of tribal differences. |

MelesZenawi:Not being able to see one's mistake is the greatest problem a person can have. tbh The writer said Yorubas prefer to be in one political party as against multiple political parties, but your brother thought he meant Yorubas were tribalistic. Although, the writer is not totally correct about the Yorubas because no other tribe in Nigeria today allows opposition to trive more the the Yorubas. Yorubas gave PDP a substantial amount of votes in 2014 and 2019 whilst the Apc won by narrow margins. Same can not be said of North where Apc won by a wide margin and East/ South where PDP won by a very wide margin. |
