The topic is quite misleading, not until I read the whole piece Ethnicity wasn't the right word to be used in this context Equity, justice and fairness would have fit in properly But in all honesty, the writer captured Nigeria in his write-up What is most captivating is that he proffered a solution to the challenges he highlighted Kudos to him. All Nigerians should read this |

maestroferddi:You're just a clown and a pathetic bigot. The SW simply voted Buhari, by a small margin, because he was viewed as the better option. Only you terribly tribalistic Igbos will always pretend to not see what is obvious which, in the case of the 2019 election, is that Atiku is a well-known leader whose antecedent is one of materialism, corruption, disloyalty, unprincipled political oloshoism(jumping from one Party to another in lust for power) and a proven history of the former VP being one of those that got us where we are today!!! It was him and his boss OBJ who supervised the squandering of billions of dollars set aside for the power sector with Nigeria not gaining a megawatt of power!!! Same Atiku is known to own the biggest retailers of generator sets in Nigeria while the nation continues to struggle with epileptic power. The Yorubas, a sane and balanced people, had solid reasons to vote against Atiku for what they feel is the better evil in PMB. What is the reason for Igbos overwhelmingly voting a failed, power-hungry, indolent and unprincipled Atiku to be President if not Tribalism(Peter Obi an Igbo becomes VP) and raw hate for PMB? See you Igbos can never be as analytically intelligent as the Yorubas who will always use your own myopic argument to show you are a lot more guilty of what you accuse others of. I won't curse but I will just say God will judge you people for always lying against the Yorubas and trying to paint them in a bad light. You lot are simply mad wanting to revise history to make it seem Yorubas did not have very, very, very solid reasons for rejecting Atiku. The corruption Atiku has been historically linked with is the stuff of legends yet you Igbos voted 100% for him. I wonder what that makes you people. You are the same wicked and hateful ethnic group who will attack Tinubu daily for corruption yet were willing to vote in Atiku whose corruption, at Federal level, needs a Nollywood film dedicated to it !!!!! Forumers can google "Atiku corruption record" to note Yorubas will always be more responsible, more aware of their civic duty, more devoted to doing the right thing and more decent than hate-voters Igbo. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/world/2007/feb/28/1 Nigerian vice-president faces corruption charges |

maestroferddi:Confronted with superior logic, the deceptive coward flees. Was your intention not the usual "Yorubas inflicted Buhari on Nigeria" bs? Never, in your dedication to twisting the narrative dishonestly, do you Igbos ever admit Atiku is a very well-known entity Yorubas had very solid and fact-based reasons for rejecting. Yorubas demonstrated responsible restraint while you Igbos, also aware of Atiku's chequered past, irresponsibly voted for PDP almost 100%. Indicative of how wicked you Igbos are, you would always wish to guilt-trip Yorubas over Buhari without ever accepting that they had reasons to be wary of Atiku. Conversely, you people showed gross irresponsibility voting for Atiku, with virtually 100% of your votes, given that there is hardly any corruption scandal at federal level Atiku was not linked to. I would think, once again, Igbos electoral choice only shows their tribalistic, hateful and hypocritical nature while Yoruba voting pattern showed pragmatism, progressive balance and critical awareness. |

LegendHero:Lying shamelessly and divisively is in their DNA and it is sad some gullible Yorubas fall for their deceit. Are Igbos not the ones who created the "Yoruba Muslim" tag because they are obsessed with finding what divides people and never what brings man together in peace, tolerance and harmony? They want everyone to be hateful like them and this is why they can only spread division wherever they are be it on Nairaland or in Ghana or Zimbabwe. |

candidtalk:Abi o. Those children of hate always detest what they can’t have. They have always been jealous of how the Yorubas were able to shed off the animosity of religion. It is a feat that the Yorubas have taught the whole world coz we are the most religious tolerant ethnic group in the world. They are not bred with love and family bond like the Yorubas, hence they will not understand the love that exists in every Omoluabi’s heart toward his fellow Yoruba people irrespective of religious identity. |

candidtalk:You are not smart. The Igbos plump for achievers and performers and do not waste their time on a twisted sense/notion of propriety and self-righteousness. Even a half-wut knows that Nigerian politicians are ALL corrupt. It is only simple-minded people like you who allow yourself to be hoodwinked by high-falllutin nonsense. There is little doubt that Atiku would have delivered the goods. That you can't dispute. If I had a choice between a maverick and an epitome of incompetence, I would choose the party who will deliver results. Trump is not the most popular in the US but even his detractors know that he is a goal-getter. Talking of blemishes , are we talking of an individual who truncated a democratically-elected government or another? Omo kekere...go figure. |

Ethnicity really need to be redefined to mean opposite of what it is before it will be used to qualify the attitude of an Igbo man. |

maestroferddi:@the bolded, that is a blatant lie, the Igbos only vote along ethnic lines without consideration for merit. Your leaders have always use the mantra of our common enemy to unite you guys to vote in a polarized way. If the Igbos actually vote on merit like you claimed, why is Abia state governor re-elected with majority vote? Why are some of the underserving governors of the SE re-elected sometimes with 80% of the vote while the voters come back to abuse them after electing them under the illusion of an ethic party PDP. You all ganged up against a performer during the days of Awolowo for Shagari in both 1979 and 1983 elections. Even a kid knows Awolowo is better than Shagari in all metrics of intelligence. Same thing played out in 1993 election, you all united with your hate to vote for Tofa even when MKO had a better profile than him and yet you’re proclaiming you vote merit. In 2015, Jonathan was a clueless president that supervised countless killings with Boko Haram bombing children and women in the North in their numbers while his cronies loot the huge proceeds from crude oil sales. Yet you voted him overwhelmingly and yet you blame the Yorubas that wanted a change in 2015 for voting against Jonathan. Where is the merit in voting Jonathan with almost 75% vote in 2015 with all his failure? |

LegendHero:Kekere, Oyetola is probably your state Governor, my dear Musulumi al Yorubani...need I say more? What did Awolowo perform? Let me in... BTW,you may need to back to your basic government...the Igbos were never in NPN in the Second Republic.. They were in NPP where the Zik of Africa superintended.... |
| Re: Religion Moves The North, Politics Moves The West, Ethnicity Moves The East by 9japride(m): 9:12pm On Mar 31, 2020 |
LegendHero: Igbos knew the person of Buhari and will never vote such. I was very certain that Jonathan 2nd term could have been the best. But the cabal ensured he loss because of oil and not allowing the terrorism war to end. |
| Re: Religion Moves The North, Politics Moves The West, Ethnicity Moves The East by LegendHero(m): 9:20pm On Mar 31, 2020 |
maestroferddi:At least, Oyetola and Adeleke election was keenly contested up to 50/50 % such that they had to go for a re-run to get a winner. That shows you the political intelligence of the SW electorate and their ability to elect a leader unbiased. Oyo voters voted Makinde a PDP member even with the fact that the APC owned SW. The election was keenly contested between him and Adelabu with a 51/49 % win and that got to show you the education of the Yoruba electorate at work. You are talking about the Igbos not in NPN, how does that had to do with electing sound candidates on merit? Did that not contradict you earlier statement that Igbo vote on merit? You have elected useless unperforming governors in the SE multiple times with almost 75-80 % of the total vote and one would but wonder what you mean by the Igbo vote merit! You are the only tribe that can be remote controlled with hateful propaganda such that you all fall in line to a goal without thinking through the outcome. We’ve seen you condemning Ikpeazu everytime online and one would but wonder who voted him in the first place. Awolowo is far above the intellect of Shagari, are you trying to contest that self-evident truth? |
| Re: Religion Moves The North, Politics Moves The West, Ethnicity Moves The East by LegendHero(m): 9:26pm On Mar 31, 2020 |
9japride:Nope, Igbo rather vote overwhelmingly for Jonathan because they see him as one of their own. They were blinded by loyalty to ethnicity and they should not be put in the same sentence with a merit vote. Countless people were dying in the NE, Boko Haram even bombed Abuja, they hold territories within Nigeria. Oil price proceeds were at all time high with his disciples embezzling all the money. Several governors were already owing workers salaries pre-2015 and the nation was heading for doom. If the Igbos actually vote on merit, they wouldn’t have given Jonathan that much overwhelming vote. They are as tribalistic in voting as the northerners they always sought to abuse. Even the North is better than them to some extent. Stop saying the Igbos vote on merit, they only vote based on common enemy and they are the only ethnic group that is most susceptible to polarization. |

maestroferddi:What an incoherent douche. Simple truth that facts and statistic validate is that Yoruba voting pattern show they are never 'herded' and that they vote pragmatically to secure good governance. Igbo voting patterns, on the other hand, leaves no objective person in doubt that the ethnic group is clannish, unconcerned about merit and only interested in voting to sate a tribalistic or discriminatory agenda. Me and LegendHero have given enough factual example to show that, regardless of the lies of Igbos, the proven truth history supports is that Igbos shun any consideration of merit to vote in a primordial manner always. In fact, it is obvious the Igbos are a very uniquely clannish ethnic group who, despite claims to erudition, seem incapable of rising above pettiness and a discriminatory outlook to vote intelligently. Accept that truth or continue rambling fraudulently and cretinously. |

Katsina was never part of Kano. Katsina state was created out of Kaduna state. Former Kano state is now Kano and Jigawa states. |

maestroferddi:One thing that distinguish a noble man is to know when to give up. Your arguments are too weak bro. Tinubu is a politician that has his own bad side but no one can take the fact that he is intelligent and a good manager of intellectual resources. He made pragmatic leaders who have reached the echelon of their careers and contributed to Nigeria in all facet of representation. Yes, the Yoruba choose between the PDP and the ACN because we have seen how incompetent the PDP did during 2003-2007. Tinubu wouldn’t have held sway in the west if the APC hadn’t produced the best governors in terms of governance compared to the PDP candidates. Ajimobi in Ibadan as against Akala, Fashola in Lagos, Amosun as against Daniel, Aregbesola as against Oyinlola, to mention a few. These guys performance trashed their successor’s own and this gave Tinubu ACN the bargaining power in the SW. You did the Yoruba no favor by voting Obasanjo, you had no choice that to vote one of Falae or OBJ. OBJ trashed Ekwueme in the Jos PDP 1998 convention and you had no choice than to settle for him. Who will you vote instead? Falae? You all speak of favor, when did any Igbo contest as a leading presidential candidate of the two major parties since 1999? When have you ever produced a presidential candidate in PDP/AD/ACN/APC since 1999? So how do we vote Igbo people that are not on the ballot? |

maestroferddi:My goal is not to change how you reason but I am just trying my best to make you see the fault in your argument that Igbo vote on merit. That is a blatant lie because historical happenings showed that they vote more along ethnic line or induced collective propaganda. You are the only set of tribe that your vote can be predicted with accuracy of 80% among all region of Nigeria. That explains why you don’t have much bargaining power in politics because your enemy already know how you are going to vote so they can mitigate against you by strategizing. You all vote one way without thinking through the merit and demerit of your actions. You just collectively put all your egg in a basket without giving room for strategic reasoning. Although this worked for you guys pre-1999 until the Yorubas also learnt to form alliance with the North. In a presidential election, I can go to the SE, tell them my opponent is an Islamic fanatics and hate Igbo, even if I am incompetent they will vote me with 85% vote. Your leaders have used this against you for decades and you learned folks from that side aren’t bothered about this. I am not arguing with you here, I am lecturing you! |

LegendHero: Igbos choose to vote GEJ because they knew Buhari was a religious fanatic and not a good option. As I said before, GEJ plan in his 2nd tenure was to deal decisively with Boko haram, but the northern leaders felt he's killing their people. It's only greedy/Hungry Igbos that are presently supporting Buhari. I have seen them, it's just for survival nothing else. |
