Why do I say that? 90% of the infrastructures built by Rochas are substandard, and they were used as smoking screen for embezzling funds. The roads mostly don't get completed, the completed ones never last more than 1 year, the buildings look like something that will fall at any time. Some roads were worked on twice before Rochas left the seat, yet they are not still good now.
The police have refused to park into the Police Headquarters that he built for them for fear of having the building collapse on them. Same thing with the Prisons. These are building where the roof start flying off barely 2 weeks after they were built.

Rochas built 27 hospitals for the 27 local governments in Imo, asking me how many of them have a human being in it. Many of them have been covered by grass. The ones that are equipped are the ones he donated to schools and organisations after years of abandoning them.

What I'm saying is, infrastructure building should only be hailed when they were made standard, equipped and made functional with systems in place to ensure their maintenance.

@ Ur third paragraph; that is the problem I have with a state like bayelsa.

I mean it may be excusable for someone like Ganduje who governs a state like Kano with about 44 Local Governments, but Thunder needs to fire all past and present governors of Bayelsa state.

Bayelsa has just 8 local governments,most of which are on water that doesn't require spending billions on road construction, yet the state is in a sorry state.

Imagine Bayelsa got almost the same allocation as Lagos in 2019 with a population of just 1.7million people o. If only the citizens will ask their governors what they do with all these allocations, instead of always shouting federal government is stealing their oil. I remember the discussion I had here with Nihilist and I was trying to explain to him that if Nigeria will develop, state government will play the major role since they are the one closer to the masses than Abuja. Just go and Ebonyi and see the wonderful work the Governor is doing. I remember telling diggz 2 years ago that Umahi is doing is tremendous job in Ebonyi because I could see what he was doing while serving there.

We have squandered our oil boom and now is the time we will pay for those resources our political elite wasted. The truth is that we cannot continue to do things they way they are.

To get to where we want to, we need massive investment in infrastructure and a departure from how we behave and think as a nation.

Look at the attached pics, look at the economic growth since we returned to democracy. From 2010 - 2015 oil was selling for $100 and above per barrel, oil benchmark was $70 per barrel, what happened to the excess crude funds? Did this oil boom translate to unprecedented infrastructure investment? Even when we were enjoying oil boom, the economy was stagnant and even dropping. As at Nov 2014, Nigeria started borrowing money to pay salaries of worker.

There’s no need lamenting about what is wrong, let’s talk about what this present admin has been doing to resolve some of this underlying issues.

Let’s start with railway. The Lagos to Ibadan railline track is completed. Test running is currently on going and hopefully the main stations will be completed ASAP also. The rail is suppose to stop at Iddo but the government changes the design to connect Apapa port to the rail line and a dry sea port at the other end in Ibadan to decongest Lagos port. After the commissioning of Lagos-Ibadan for full operation, The Ibadan to Kano rail line will start. That’s affectively connecting Lagos to Kano.

Itakpe - Warri narrow gauge line is also completed. The rail line will serve as a way to get iron ore to Ajaokuta plant. It will also carry passengers.

In the $22.7bn loan, there’s provision for the Lagos - Calabar railine. There’s also Port Harcourt to Maiduguri. The plan is to have a central line and a coastal line. The coastal line will run from Calabar to Port Harcourt, Port Harcourt will then connect with the Warri - Itakpe line which will connect to thto central line to Abuja.

I remember the controversy that trail the sukuk bonds and the shouts of Islamization, this bond was used for several road projects in the 6 geographical location.

North Central: The construction of Lokoja-Benin road, Abuja-Abaji-Lokoja road section one, three and section four and Construction of Oju-Loko-Oweto Bridge over River Benue.

North East: Dualization of Kano to Maiduguri road section two, three, four and five.

North West: Dualisation of Kano to Katsina road phase one, dualisation of Suleja to Minna roads in Niger state, Phase two, Construction of Kano Western bypass and the construction of Kaduna Eastern by-pass road.

South East: Rehabilitation of Enugu-Port Harcourt dual carriage way section two, Onitsha to Enugu expressway, Enugu to Port Harcourt dual carriageway section one, and three.

South South: Dualization of Yenegwe to Kolo to Otuoke to Bayelsa palm road. Rehabilitation of Enugu to Port Harcourt road section four and the dualisation of Lokoja to Benin road section two, three and four and five.

South West: Reconstruction and asphalt overlay of Benin to Ofosu to Ore to Ajebandele to Shagamu dual carriageway phase three and four. Dualisation of Ibadan to Ilorin road section two.

The Second Niger bridge is finally becoming a reality while the Lagos - Ibadan expressway is finally nearing completion. These projects are being funded by Presidential Infrastructure Development Funds. The Govt also gave Dangote tax break to construct the Apapa - Badagry expressway.

Buhari signs the NFIU bill which mandates that Local Government Funds will be paid directly to local government account instead of paying it into the state government account as it was done before. The question is, how many people are holding their elected LG officials to account?

Jan this year, Buhari signs the Finance bill 2020, while the bill has many objective and talking points, what the media amplify was the VAT increase from 5% to 7.5%
Let’s take a look at the finance bill and the changes:
VAT increase from 5% - 7.5%
There will be no VAT on food and dairy products
Companies with turnover of less than N25 million a year will not pay Company Income Tax
Companies that earn between N25 million – N100 million annually will pay 20 per cent of their profit as CIT.
Companies with annual income in excess of N100 million annually will pay 30per cent of their profit as CIT
Tax on dividends is no longer applicable.

GEJ admin set up NCDC in 2011 yet it was Buhari that sent an executive bill to the senate in 2018. The NCDC Act was signed into law in Nov 2018, 7 years after GEJ create the agency. Prior to the bill, NCDC has no legal backing from the government.

There’s so much I can talk about ranging from security, healthcare, economy, infrastructure or even agriculture that the Buhari admin is working on but the rot is deep that anyone that thinks Buhari admin will solve this issue overnight is joking.

The question then is, what exactly are the state government doing with their allocations?

I am from Oyo state. I have never voted in any Nigerian election in my life and IMO I think the rating of Oyo governors since 1999 are below. I think Ladoja was the best and Akala is the worst governor ever. Both were PDP governors

What I have seen from Seyi simply shows he is a media governor with no concrete plan, The major problem people had with Ajimobi was his perceived arrogance and this makes people bias against him, In Nigeria, we love those who give us flowery words without any action to back it, we like people who don't tell us the truth but massage our egos later in 20yrs time we will be wondering why we are still behind Benin and Togo.

Many things people dare not do in the private sector, they believe its govt that they should do it.

1. When Ajimobi got there, Ibadan was the center of NURTW crisis, he brought it all under control and sent some of those thugs to prison. Makinde to get power, aligned with some of these thugs like Igboho, and Auxilliary Now Auxilliary is the head of Park Managers in Oyo State

2. Ajimobi banned street trading and roadside shanties used for petty trade, Makinde resumed and played to the gallery that his mother was also a street trader and street trading should resume

3. I saw on Social Media one person posting how Makinde was at night joining waste management to pack gutters, And posted "See a humble governor, he even denied himself sleep to pack gutters" Someone asked him that if there was no camera will Makinde be there tonight to pack gutters?

4. Ajimobi implemented a levy on all school students which they use to buy things like chalk and other school needs but Makinde cut it. Some of those schools don't even have chalks again and the money they used to make from the levy is gone. So they are enjoying free education but without ordinary chalk to learn

For Nigeria to develop we need some hard decisions not just words and massaging egos. I don't mind someone who talks rudely as long as he delivers. I don't mind tough actions as long as we get results

That is why a governor will spend 4yrs doing nothing but give us 1 derica of garri and rice and be voted back in because he knows how to talk or blame opposition

For example, Bisi Akande in Osun found out that an average secondary school in Osun will have 8 PE teachers, 6 CRK teachers, 8 IRK teachers but 1 Math teacher, 0 Physics and Chemistry teachers he retired many of those redundant workers employed more Science and Math teacher but lost election because of that

One governor mandated that if you are teaching a subject you should take a WAEC standard test of the subject and get 50%. Please tell me what is wrong with that policy? But he lost reelection because people frowned at it.

I asked someone if you are not competent enough, will First Bank or Zenith or MTN retain you? We see the efficiencies in some places and love it but we cannot practice the same thing

Only a Governor interested in completing projects will be taking 10-20% kickback in that manner. This is the style of corruption Kwame Nkrumah and co used to practice. Ajimobi ruled for 8 years.. ask anyone about the state of government schools in Ibadan.. I'm talking about the developed areas like sango and co..
I stayed in a flat with my friend... And a lot of houses don't have water, they have to come fetch from the well in our place.. or go to another house.. I don't think Ibadan people felt his governance and while it's good he wants teachers to be able to get 50percent in waec questions... Does he score 20 in governance..

This is not true.. when I entered Ibadan, I have never seen that amount of beggars in my life.. they everywhere.
Also, street trading was still happening.. I don't think his government enforced it.. Go to bodija market an they full road making it difficult to drive. During Osun election, I saw Ajimobi's convoy and people were cursing the man. I believe maybe the man did well in his first term but his second, he was talking anyhow but doing nothing.

Makinde while it doesn't make sense but will appeal to sentiments,

So you will spend 15yrs in Australia and will return to Ibadan to still see street traders. Some places in Europe and America too had street trading 40yrs ago when their leaders were growing up but it doesnt mean we should continue with the practice. That is why other places are leaving us behind and we are still playing to the gallery

I don't famz Makinde.. I've not seen what he's doing but while you must have heard Ambode banned street trading... Believe me sir.. it was still everywhere. Ibadan has huge potentials and needs someone like fashola to handle.
Awka in Anambra for example needs a governor that is ready to demolish many places but no one get that mind

Odili did not lift a finger to do anything in Rivers State.

Even after leaving office, he has been stealing humongously through the judicial system. Odili settles cases for millions of dollars. His charge to Amaechi to win judgement vs Omehia was $10m according to informed sources. His wife being a supreme court judge, Odili sells judgements for huge fees.

Odilis main source of siphoning wealth was through Ikhide Arumemi. Just the one Arumemi kept for himself was enough to buy several planes and launch Arik Air, plus several properties in UK including the family Mansion in Kensington.

If the proxy is eating like this, how much more the principal?

Ambode was the best South West governor during his time but he is the one tagged a disaster..His major problem was abandoning fashola's projects.. but the things he did were quite commendable.. What he did in oshodi has solved traffic there in the next 100 years.. the oshodi road FG is building will complement it more... Ambode stopped Latsma from harrassing drivers.. stopped them from Collectin money and they fought him.. told nurtw to only collect money from bus stops and not stop them on the road.. His buses are world class and he's the only one that seem to be doing something about Lagos transport method. The roads he built especially in Epe can't be seen anywhere in Nigeria.. But he was judged by abandoning important projects and fighting godfathers. But no one came close to him with just four years in office.

Anyone governing Lagos already has a head start because there’s a system in place already and what is needed is continuity.

Ambode was a disaster that happened to Lagos. Yes, he got some infrastructure right like the Abule Egba flyover bridge, the double overhead bridge in Ojodu Berger, the double overhead bridge in Secretariat and the likes. Oshodi clean up was majorly Fashola achievement, not Ambode. Ambode did start the Oshodi interchange but it’s still not completed yet.

Ambode was running a confused government. Was he not the one that sited a terminal in Ikeja, Buhari came to Lagos to commission the Terminal only for him to demolish the terminal without it ever being in use. Most of the buses for Lagbus bought by Ambode were rotting inside those uncompleted Terminals. The one at onyingbo is still there.

Was it not Ambode that relaxed the ban on street trading and almost all the bus stop were filled back with people selling stuff and impending flow of traffic? Was it not Ambode that brought Visionscape from Dubai to replace the PSP guys that were the one doing the waste collection? Was that not what turn Lagos into a refuse dump? Was it now Ambode that failed to continue the culture of road repairs by LSMOW thereby causing 80% of roads in Lagos to deteriorate? Was it not Ambode that relaxed the ban of Okada riders in the highway after Fashola banned them since 2011?

Was it not Ambode that failed to continue the Lagos blue line rail? What about the Ilubirin housing project that was abandoned? Ibeju Lekki seaport?

I’m happy he did develop Epe though a little though, at least his people will always remember they once have a governor.

Odili did nothing, nada. He was looting in order to play on the National level, but Ribadu blocked him.
