Bernie is not a Democrat, he is an Independent that caucus with the Democrats; so it is not rocket science for democrats to endorse Biden, who is a fellow democrat, though a moderate one.

It also appear that, Biden will be a safer bet because he will appear more to the center.

Americans are not dumb the democrat establishment wants the dimentia patient Joe Biden to be the presidential candidate at the expense of the massive grass root support of bernie sanders so they made every other candidate dropout of the race and endorse Biden now they have there way, there plot is to force hillary on him as a VP and if they win impeach Joe for hillary to become the president since she can earn it at the polls. There plans has failed they would loose woefully at the polls come november bernie's supporters are voting for Donald trump

An ideal race for trump, as you said, would have been v Sanders. (though 2016 Sanders may have given Trump a hard time, according to some polls back then).

Trump's main enemy really is the economy. This covid 19 has really hit the American economy, especially the jobs sector...one of the pillars of the Trump admin's success...and if the recession continues, there is always the risk that the next election would be the 1992 election again...where Geroge Bush lost to Bill Clinton largely because the economy slumped in the last 18 months of his (Bush's) presidency.

Good for America. Bernie is far left leaning and a proclaimed socialist. America runs the best system of govt anywhere in the world. And we know because it allows free citizens the room to run wild in creativity. Why anybody, especially a senior citizen like Sanders who benefited from the same system, would call for a socialist system is beyond me. So, again, good for America.

Like Trump famously declared, America can never be a socialist nation.

On the brighter side, this just about hands Trump victory on a platter.

Let's face it, Trump will mop the floor with Biden. Joe is too senile, incoherent and by no means no match for Trump.
