No, Vieira had Petit or Gilberto Silva behind him, same way Scholes had Keane or Butt behind him. They play the exact same position and nobody mentioned Vieira vs Scholes, na only Keane them mention.

Scholes also played behind the striker in his early days and at the top of a 3 man midfield with Veron and Keane behind.

At least I'm not the only one saying this, people seems to be attached to memories of older generation of players neglecting the exploits of players who played during the 2000s. I will even pick Ivanovic over Neville.
