Nairaland had been littered by pained people,who aren't happy with the latest success the chadians are experiencing in the war against bokoharam. something Nigeria couldn't do in ten years the chadians are doing it in couple of weeks,hence they try to discredit the chadian forces,and potray them as a group of ragtag army that can't stand the Nigerian millitary might in conventional warfare.thats why I create this thread to enlighten some misconception in this wrong reasoning.
WAR IS NOT WON BY SIZE:size or big population is not everything. if it was so India should have been a super power much stronger than the USA .war is won by morale tactics and equipment.the chadians have what the Nigerians don't have.which is the moral and dedication with a determined and experienced leader.
CHADIAN ARMY IS A GUERRILLA FORCE:the chadian millitary doctrine is based on guerrilla war tactics due to years of fighting they are warriors of the desert hence very effective in desert warfare and combat.
NIGERIAN FORCES WILL BE MASSACRED:lol I don't need to raise the volume of this. a Nigerian army that's been battered by Bokoharam armbush right in their own territory,can't dare invade a 2020 Chadian territory because if a full blown out war emerges the chadians will just murder our helpless troops.u don't know the damage the RPG 7 and anti tank missiles can do to our tanks and armoured vehicles.nigeria uses the T/55 tanks and some few T/72s lol, these are favorite prey for the RPG 7 and other anti tank rockets.even the Russian version of the T/72 tank suffered severely from anti tank rockets and RPG attacks during the Chechen war talkless of our downgraded T/72 tanks the Nigerian army uses.chad may not have a decent armoured fleet but they have deadly shouldered fired antitanks missiles like the Milan and various version of the RPG 7 our armour column will be punished severely by the chadians.dont forget also snipers,machinegunners,artillery,mortar,landmines IEDs antitank ditches Bobby traps would be well laid to deal ruthlessly with the invading nigerian soldiers.the Chad of today is not the Chad of the 1980s.

I disagree with the op here,the chadian forces won't even last long in a battle with our Nigerian forces,first of all you need money to fight wars of which Nigeria is far richer than Chad,we've got all it takes to defeat them whether in terms of human resources, financial, military capabilities.
What is killing our military is just politics and religion, their are top political and religious leaders in this country that are sympathetic to the bokoharam cause and will do anything possible to undermine the efforts of the Nigerian military.Its an insult to be comparing Nigerian military with Chad.

After losing over 90 soldiers from attack on its military base by Boko haram terrorists it crminally harboured, Idriss Deby's 'guerrilla specialist' soldiers swooped on the terrorists over a small area of land with the help of Israeli mercenaries and still lost 52 soldiers.
52 goddam soldiers in one just fu*king battle, in which it initiated the surprise attack!!!

Meanwhile, Nigerian army have fought several ASYMMETRIC battles with the same terrorists at Chadian border, at Cameroon border, at Niger border and over larger expanse of Sambisa forest that is about the size of some countries.

The Military Generals and senior politicians are making huge money from the war, so they don't want it to end. If the military is really serious about ending boko haram, it will be over in 2 weeks.
