Fantastic acting by a talented cast. Ian McKellen has been old as long as I can remember so it is nice to see him in his much younger years, but the star is Anthony Andrews himself. That damned, elusive pimpernel!

I was arrested from the very first scene. A classic.

Easily 4.5 stars.

Yes, I know about that too. But I've watched a lotta films and I seem to understand the concept. Sometimes, a movie can get a low rating because the themes (romance, comedy, action) are not in sync. Sometimes, it could be because of lack of chemistry between the actors/actresses. So yes, I still watch some low-rated movies. For example, Rambo: Last Blood (2019) didn't score that much. 26%! ... It was because:
1) It was still the same ol' high octane action from the other flicks.
2) For it being the last, they didn't exactly focus on character development.
3) It had a somewhat simple plot, without loopholes or suspense, or anything like that.

Basically, it was mad. You know, the usual shooting and looking stone-faced . But, those plot issues limited its ratings. But, I loved it nonetheless . I still loved it, not minding because to 'human me', it was mad. But to 'critic me', I could fish 'em plot issues out. All in all, I get what you mean. Movie critics don't speak for everyone. You speak for you. It just depends if you like it or not..... But there are still some g0d-forsaken films that deserve to be sent to Hades. Hell, there are some movies I can't recommend to the devil himself .. I've watched a lot of good shii but to get there, I had to watch some cringy stuff too. Also I found out I am in sync with the critics a lot. That's just my taste

...Don't mind my unique @ss. Do you know the first time I read of Dahmer, I read his bio, then I watched his trial videos, then I read on more serial killers. From there, I checked unsolved murder cases. That was from 12:34AM till 6:22AM (Yes, I checked the time). Then, I remembered I had a report to upload .... Thank God, I wasn't required at office that day

Summer of 84 is about serial killers too. Unlike movies, these maniacs in real life pass off as normal everyday people living in communities with normal, everyday neighbours.

Man you know this ! i see other genres too but mostly prefer dramas because the one thing i cherish most in a movie are the monologues and dialogues and Dramas are overflowing with it...but there's a catch...If an action film fails to inspire at least the action scenes can keep you entertained but if a Drama flick fails to entertain or inspire na to cry over your wasted data oo

No mind me o. I am low-key, even for this Lagos. Private life is the best life. I know a lot of people but they know I'm a private person so they don't troop in my home, or invite me to house parties and what-not. Lemme drink my juice in my air-conditioned living room ... But I go sometimes tho, to house parties only. Too much privacy can turn you to an introvert. It seems, I am a private extrovert. I was too much of an extrovert in my school days, always trying to know everybody without focusing on myself. Around my 2nd college year, I decided to turn my life around and focus on building myself. I'm happy I made that decision ... Lol, see me narrating my life story ... It's boredom o.
About your question, I finished it last year and did a little celebration with my family. Thanks for asking

Lolz, i know what you like. You're a man of dialogues & monologues, so it's was kinda easy knowing your preferred movie genre. I enjoy dramas too, but not as a solo genre, else I'd get bored.
