Government must extend thier focus and attention beyound the poor of the poorest.- Sen Dino Melaye April 13, 2020 Government must extend thier focus and attention beyound the poor of the poorest.- Sen Dino Melaye said in a post he wrote on his social media handle he said that, Federal government to show that they care and are passionate about the poor and middle class He wrote : "Fellow citizens as i advocate for the poor and vulnerable in our society during this lockdown. Government must extend thier focus and attention beyond the poor of the poorest. It is not just the people that live hand to mouth. There is a need for Government to get funding to the SMEs that have their businesses shut down and employ 5, 10, 20people. They are not earning any revenue and still have their fixed costs going out and can’t pay or support their staff. They are now thinking of laying off staff and that will exacerbate the dire economic situation post lockdown. We don’t need anymore unemployed people where the unemployment rate is already at 30%. It is time for Federal government to show that they care and are passionate about the poor and middle class http://www.kcitytv.com.ng/2020/04/government-must-extend-thier-focus-and.html?m=1

The conditions Nigerians and our leaders put their self is a very tough one to handle. UAE with a population of 9million plus has same GDP with Nigeria a population of 200million plus. We should all bow in shame as we've failed our mother land.. We aren't rich enough to have looters yet we have large chunk of underproductive looters.. |

Why do the poor always want people to help them.? What about the rich... Who is going to help them? |

Charleys:This is out of context and even more disjointed than what dino said .... Firstly fed govt aren't concentrating on poor people as the media portrays , cos a whole of people , haven't received jack.... And even if the govt concentrates on the poor , the case for Nigeria and Nigerians is let's us just survive ....which the section of people Dino talked about don't fall into that category , if u pay 10 staffs salary , I don't think 28 days lockdown should be a problem to your survival , at least you can feed your family ,the vulnerable employees are the ones who need help rn. For the fact we have food to eat doesn't mean we shouldn't talk wisely.... No poor man is hoping on the rich to help them , some just want liberty to go about their hassle.... |

The post-lockdown recovery process will take some time. Before lockdown, the poor were getting poorer and the rich were getting richer at a very slow rate. Implication? The rich don't have as much as they used to and not so much to give to the poor. The poor, as a result, must begin to look beyond crumbs, aids and palliatives post-recovery period. It is not going to be easy but we will survive. There is no better time to look into agriculture than our post-recovery process. You see sectors like entertainment and real estate? It will take the rest of the year or more to bounce back. |
