When you have the machinery and technical know-how, the need for manual labor for planting will drastically reduce coz machine can do what a laborer will do with high yield. Why are USA farmers successful? It is not only about their lands, it is about the technique. 10 farmers in USA with the right machinery/chemicals will outperform 1000 farmers down here doing the job manually.
