For those of us that never believed the numbers churned out by China, they are beginning to own up

Wuhan, the central Chinese city at the epicenter of the country’s coronavirus outbreak, just revised its death toll up by 1,290 to 3,869—an increase of 50% from its previous count.

Chinese authorities explained the revision by noting that some hospitals were overwhelmed early in the outbreak, leading to cases being incorrectly reported, delayed, or omitted. Chinese state broadcaster CCTV reported yesterday (link in Chinese) that the government was revising the numbers in accordance with the law, and quoted the special government operation team overseeing epidemic containment efforts in Wuhan as saying: “Coronavirus figures not only concern people’s health and lives, but also the credibility of the government. The revision of the figures not only protects citizens’ rights… it also shows the government’s respect for each individual.”

They have seen that the statistics in the other countries are high. They deliberately omitted some hospitals' records. They know what they are doing. The more you look, the less you see. That's China for you.

The safest to do when dealing with the chinese is to have base mindset of “DISTRUST”

and America, Russia and others will just sit and fold their hands while it happens? Being world power is more than releasing the Covid-19 virus, there are other deadlier diseases that can wipe off the human race in the hands of many countries. We should stop over-hyping China.

If China anyhow becomes world power in future, they will be worse than USA.

Could this be because US has made move to investigate their overall report concerning this Covid-19? They will still be more revisions as the World mount more pressure on them.

Nobody is hyping them not to talk of overhyping but just so you know, they are already the economic world super power, a position they casted with concrete with this Covid-19 move. What else are they aspiring for? Technological and military world powers, once they cement these two the whole world is China's. And just so you know too, there is a reason China is doling out billions of dollars to African countries in the name of loans

Statistics has shown that due to distrust and fear of uncertainty by other countries; the Chinese will loose economically, socially and politically more than any other country after this crisis.

How is that supposed to help them ascend to the seat of world power?

Even a primary 2 pupil should know that China didn't plan for this as clearly it was going to be counterproductive. They are not that dumb.

Trump is doing all he can to make sure he not a number one in the Death Race. However, Chinese statistics appear to be numbers of death that could have happened in two days at the peak of the plague. It is laughable.

Wuhun is a city in China. The figure is for Wuhun.

Well, of this news is true.

China have then finally shot themselves on their foot.

China is already feeling the heat and understanding the reality and this won't be the last revision.

Their excuse is very petty which is making me doubt the news a bit.

Trump just secured more bullets for China and WHO.

Will take China many years to recover from the aftermath.
