Fun fact : erm....

We see a man cooking and hear a female voice saying "I don't like potatoes because they're bland", a male voice says "I didn't want to eat carrots, I hate the taste" we can't see the people talking only the man cutting potatoes so I'm assuming he's the male voice, the female voice says but when they're dyed yellow it's a different story. The male voice says I know. What magic was performed. The female voice says curry is always right, no matter who makes it. The male voice says what? No way, no matter who? Really? (I guess the man is making curry) the female voice says love may betray you but the taste of curry never does, the male voice says I don't know about that, if it tasted good and made you happy, there was probably another reason for it.

A lady (jhb) walks with her bicycle to the front of a curry shop, there's a guy (hw) sleeping on a chair in front of the shop. She doesn't notice him. She takes a bag of groceries from the basket attached to her bicycle and is about to enter the shop when she notices writing on the glass door "This restaurant is expensive and tastes terrible" aigoo they even drew a pile of dung on the door. She is upset and wondering why someone would do that. The guy on the bench sits up, she's trying to clean the writing from the door. He comes behind her to read it, she notices his reflection on the glass, gets scared cos he's too close to her and she hadn't noticed him before, she screams, turns around and hits him with her bag of groceries. He falls down, she realizes he's a perfectly normal person, she asks if he's OK then realizes he reeks of alcohol. He says "good morning" aigoo she notices he's bleeding from his head, then he faints, she's scared.

Next scene they are at the hospital, he's eating and a policeman is reading a statement telling them it will take 2 weeks for his forehead to heal, there isn't a serious problem but there's a temporary problem as the guy has lost his memories. The policeman asks him if he remembers his name or where he lives, the guy says he doesn't remember. She asks the policeman if they can identify him with his fingerprints, the policeman gives the guy a "look" and says it's possible but it'll take a long time. The guy says so where is he supposed to stay, policeman says he doesn't know but he can't stay at the station. The guy asks the girl to take responsibility for him (me: lewl) he asks if he can stay at her restaurant, he says he'll work for free. She says are you crazy? You can't even think straight. He says anyway, you attacked me, I think this is a better option than you paying me settlement money. She remembers her landlady harassing her for rent that morning, apparently she doesn't get any customers at her restaurant. The policeman says yumi, it's only for 1 week (oh I guess he knows her, her name is yumi btw), she mutters "what kind of rotten luck is this".

They are walking to the restaurant, she's pissed and he's just a happy baby, he asks how he should address her "noona? Boss? Teacher?" she ignores him, he says noona sounds better, right? She faces him and says are you younger than I am, he's like what? She says do we know each other's ages, he says oh, brings his face closer to hers and says you're even prettier up close, even though you're a little old. She continues going, he's running after her saying but you're really pretty, I mean it.

At the restaurant he's cleaning the writing on the door and watching her cook (me: is he in love with her) lol she catches him looking at her and mumu tries to pretend he wasn't, she just ignores him.

Hours later dude is surprised that she has not got even 1 customer and she's sitting calmly reading, he asks why she's not even desperate, is she a chaebol? She tells him to be quiet. He says sitting doing nothing won't bring in customers. He asks if she's embarrassed, he says if she wants to keep her pride she should close down the restaurant. She angrily puts down the book she's reading. A customer comes in. They both welcome him. She's happy he's eating. Hw goes out and starts advertising the restaurant to people passing by, the name of the restaurant is "cat's restaurant". Lol as he's advertising he looks through the door, she's cleaning her counter, her back is turned to the customer and the guy is taking a picture of her butt with his phone. Our amnesiac goes in and demands for the phone, the customer doesn't understand why, she goes to the amnesiac and asks what he's doing, he threatens to slap the customer if he doesn't give him the phone, he says you took a picture of my noona, the customer says no!, he tells yumi it's a misunderstanding, she's scared, amnesiac says well if it's a misunderstanding let's see your phone, they struggle over the phone till amnesiac gets it, they look and the customer was only taking a selfie of himself (me: aigoo lol) they are all embarrassed lol, the customer says something was stuck in his teeth so he was using his front camera as a mirror. Yumi pushes amnesiac and starts to apologize to the customer, amnesiac shifts her away and says stay out of this (me: lol see diswan forming mature oppa) he turns to the customer and says why don't you hit me once, the customer goes what? Amnesiac says its my fault so I'll take any punishment, I'm really sorry. The customer says that's not good enough, he's asks yumi to give him coupon for a free meal. Amnesiac escorts him out apologizing that he didn't know he was a regular customer. The customer asks if he's really her younger brother as he heard him calling her "noona". Amnesiac says yes (there's something fishy about this customer btw, I just can't place it).

At night, they are eating curry and rice at the restaurant, they both use the curry to draw a smiley face on their plate of rice and look shocked that they did the same thing, the boy says you too? This is so weird, do you always eat it like that? Since when? Yumi tells him to stop overreacting and to think about the mistake he made earlier. He says why? I thought he was hitting on you, how could I stand aside. She tells him to be quiet and eat. Lmao she's eating, he puts a spoonful in his mouth and brings it right out. She says what are you doing? He says why does it taste like this? It doesn't taste like anything? (lol) she's hurt and says everyone has different tastes. He says it's not just about personal taste. She says didn’t you see the customer earlier he even wanted a coupon. He says that guy seems suspicious, you really think this tastes alright, she says I only use the best ingredients, it might taste weird to you since you're used to cheap food. She continues eating, he says using expensive ingredients doesn't mean the food will taste great, he says it has no deep or meaningful flavor, it tastes distant, I'm sorry but it tastes really really bad, hasn't anyone ever given you honest feedback (me:aigoo pity her now). She laughs, he asks why? She says because she can't believe this, then she clears his plates lol and goes home.

At home her mom is wrapping their windows with bubble wrap, she asks why? And she says it's to keep cold wind out, she says we can't even move because of you, yumi says nothing is wrong with their house, why should they move? The mom says it was fine when dad was around but now it costs to maintain it (me:oh her dad must be dead). Yumi says she'll earn more money. They are eating and she tells her mom someone told her that her curry was bad and asks if it's true. The mom says yes that the women in their family are bad cooks lmao, yumi screams why didn't you tell me earlier, the mom says she should quit the restaurant and get married, she says it's her life, she's only 30. The mom asks if she thinks that's young, she says at least I'm younger than you lol. The mom asks, who told you your curry was bad? I like that person whoever it was. Is it a man? Yumi says what if he is. The mom says hold on to him at least you know he won't betray you (since he's so honest lol)

Amnesiac and the policeman are in the restaurant, policeman is scolding him that he was scared, he apologizes to the policeman (he calls him ahjussi so I guess they are closer than just policeman and victim) and says but you know I don't have much time left (me:ehn what's going on? Is he ill? Aigoo) the policeman said still, you were so lonely that's why I told you about it but why'd you come here? To do what? (me:heol what are these 2 planning) he says maybe I can sponge off here. The policeman screams cha Kyung pyo (ok that's his name). Kyung pyo says I'm just curious about han yumi, isn't that a valid reason (me: heol that's why you and police are pretending you have amnesia? Aigoo)

She's preparing for bed and she remembers him saying her food is really really bad, she's angry but gets cheered by pictures of her and a cat pasted on her mirror (me:she must have a cat, that's why she named her restaurant cat, God knows I will never eat there lol).

Early the next morning, he's pasting handmade posters all around town, it reads "our curry has changed" and there's a drawing of a cat. He reaches the restaurant and sees someone writing on the door, the person drew poop and wrote poo curry, he catches the person and its the regular customer (me:wow I knew he was dodgy) Kyung pyo says wow so you really are a pervert? Customer says no! I'm not, let me explain. Kyung pyo says you can explain at the police station. The guy gets scared and says it's because I like yumi, Kyung pyo says so you drew poop not flowers, I don't believe you, this is why you're a pervert, customer says it's so that other people won't come. Kyung pyo goes "what?" customer says so she'll remember me (aigoo). Kyung pyo says he doesn't care, they'll still go to the police station, customer says you're hiding something too right? I was drawing here one night when you came completely sober, you sprinkled soju on your clothes, use it to gargle and spat it out, I saw everything, why did you do that? I can tell yumi about it right? (me: oh that first day he wasn't even drunk). Kyung pyo sees he has no choice, he says let's make a deal.

Yumi is riding to work, she notices the new posters and is like what is this? She enters the restaurant and asks him if he made the posters, he says yes and asks if she's pleased, she asks him if he's sure he can make better curry, she tells him to make it but if it tastes worse than hers, he's dead (me: aunty I'm sure a 3 year old can cook better than you). He says if he wins he's going to be cooking with her, she agrees. They are both making curry, he asks if she has apples, she says she doesn't like them, he says me too, they're crispy and make my teeth hurt (me:ehn?), it's obvious she feels the same way too. He says he needs some tho and goes to buy. They are done making their curry. A customer comes in lol its her mom, she automatically starts to fawn over Kyung pyo as per future son in law. Lol he almost said his name when he was introducing himself, he realized yumi was looking at him and changed mouth. They both give her a plate of curry and ask her to choose the best one. Lol she chooses Kyung pyo's, he's happy, yumi is embarrassed, other customers keep coming and choosing his own, even the regular customer and the policeman. It's lunch time and Yumi goes to eat at the park in anger, she has a plate of his curry and rice and says what's so special about it, she takes a spoonful and realizes it is really good, she continues to eat and starts to almost tear up (me:hian crying for food).

He's at the restaurant, her phone starts to ring (she forgot it there) he takes it and runs to go catch up with her at the bus station, she's about to board a bus when he gets there so he boards with her (*sigh* just like every stalker male lead in dramas lol). She's seated at the back looking out the window, while he's standing in front (even though there are lots of empty seats) looking and smiling at her. She reaches her stop, they both alight, she's walking and he's walking slowly behind her (sigh), her phone starts to ring, she checks her pockets and bag, it's not there, she looks around and is shocked to see him standing behind her with the phone in his hand and a smile on his face (me:weirdo). He gives her the phone, it's her mom calling. She asks him if he followed her, he says he was worried (me:heol) and he had to give her her phone, she says you can go, he asks her why she just can't say thank you, she says she never asked him to do this for her and walks away, he says he'll walk her home, she says she's not grateful, he says he's sad cos she's always nasty to him and asks what the hell is he doing here? She says if he doesn't know, how should she? He says he thinks he likes her, she's surprised and asks if he wants something from her. The mom is waiting for her and is very happy to see Kyung pyo, she invites him in.

He's in their house looking at family pictures on the wall. The mom offers him apples (lol) he eats even though he hates apples (me:awwnnn), the mom praises his curry, praises his looks. She asks if his parents are good looking, he says my dad... She goes that's why genes are important (me:preach sista! Lol) she says she's sure his dad is handsome and tells yumi she's lucky she didn't take after her dad, yumi says what's wrong with dad? He was so handsome that a lot of women chased after him. The mom is embarrassed and says he never did anything wrong. The mom keeps feeding him apples and yumi is

touched that he's eating even though he hates them. Lol the mom keeps trying to get yumi to feed him aigoo. He helps them fix the bubblewrap on their window, the mom is so excited, yumi is like whatever. Yumi is impressed and smiling at him and I think she's in love with him (awwnnn). He's about to leave, she thanks him for helping out, he says noona, what if my memory comes back and I'm not the type of person you think I am, would you be disappointed? (me: is he a thug or something?) she says are you afraid that your reality will be poor? He says he just started worrying that she could be disappointed. She says if he's that worried, he should just leave. He says you're so cold-hearted, people don't even treat stray dogs like that, am I no better than a dog? She tells him to stop talking rubbish and go cos it's cold.

He's walking back and remembers her telling him to leave if he's worried. The policeman sees him walking and looking worried and takes him to go get soju, he asks him anxiously if her mother noticed him (me:what the hell is up with these 2), Kyung pyo says no, I felt so happy seeing noona but after seeing her mom I felt scared, I don't know what I'm doing right now (me:huh?). The policeman says see, I told you, you should have thought about that before, Kyung pyo says at first I wanted to see yumi just once but I couldn't help myself, the policeman says I don't blame you, that's what blood relations are like, she's your half sister but you share the same blood (me:heol, here I was shipping mtchewww).

The next day aigoo she wears a girly pink gown and carries a sweatshirt as a gift for him (me:oh no he's your brother eotteokhe). He looks her up and down and goes wow noona you look really pretty today, she's embarrassed and gives him the gift roughly and walks away (aigoo poor child). He's wearing the sweatshirt and she is literally lusting after his flesh (omona but it is a really beautiful flesh, eotteokhe I hate this), he starts playing noona, noona, she pretends she isn't bothered and tells him not to overreact, that she brought the shirt cos she wanted him to dress neatly. He says thanks for caring for me. He tells her they have a reservation for a group of 6 that evening for social dining and asks her what social dining is, she says it's when strangers who don't want to eat alone meet up and eat together, she says she doesn't know why they bother cos eating alone is best, Kyung pyo says eating alone is good but eating with people is also nice, then he tells her if she's ever in the mood she can call on him and he'll eat with her, she's touched (sigh). They are cooking and she asks him if the secret to his curry is just apples, he says no there's more, it's top secret but he'll tell her if she wants to know. She asks who taught him, he gets nervous and says he can't remember (me:liar). He tries to give her some to taste, she refuses and in the process the spoon of hot curry pours into his palm, she quickly takes him to the sink and runs cold water over his hands apologizing and petting him, he's looking and smiling at her cos I guess he's feeling the sibling love while she is focused on his lips eotteokhe, she gets awkward and leaves his hand. He says why stop? I like this, keep going (me:idiot can't you consider the possibility that she might fall for you *face-palm*) she walks away, he's disappointed but still happy (aigoo).

The group of 6 arrive, her landlady, the policeman and the regular customer are among them, apparently Kyung pyo promised to help him win yumi's heart (double aigoo). Lol they're trying to get a girl to flirt with customer so that yumi will get jealous but the girl says Kyung pyo is her style and yumi is jealous. At the close of day Kyung pyo and yumi are tidying up, he asks her why she opened a curry restaurant and she says she likes curry, is something wrong with that, he says she resigned from her former job, used all her severance pay to open the restaurant, she didn't even have a special recipe, it was risky. She says the food that made her happy all her life was curry, we see flashback of her as a child, someone is serving her rice and curry, the person used the curry to draw a smiley on the rice (I guess that's their dad who was the person cooking in the beginning), she says if she keeps making curry, one day she might find that exact flavor, he asks if the restaurant she used to eat from is still running so they'll go together. She says not a restaurant, it was her dad's curry. He says it should be easy then, he must have shown you how to make it, she says it was the only dish he ever cooked and when he was cooking he wouldn't let anyone into the kitchen so she never learnt. He says your dad was really affectionate. She says I thought so at one stage. He looks at her surprised and goes "one stage?".

She's heading home, he wears his earmuffs for her, she removes it and says don't do that, he wears it on her again and says you're pretty but it will also make you warm (me:gosh can you stop calling her pretty and confusing her *sigh* in all my life I think my brother has only complimented my looks 3 times. P.s:he was probably high on malt or something cos I don't know what he was talking about anyway its not something brothers typically do). She's looking at him definitely lost in him and he has to call her name before she comes back to earth. She nervously says thank you and leaves.

At night she's at home and she has definitely fallen for him (me:aigoo you poor bi!tch).

At the restaurant, Kyung pyo and regular customer are discussing, he asks him when he'll tell yumi the truth and Kyung pyo says he'll leave tomorrow, he's sure when she finds out later she might be hurt, if I keep my mouth shut, she'll never know (me:Mtchewww). Regular customer says but you're family, Kyung pyo says it's more comfortable going alone, if I tell her I have to patch things, I don't have time for that, if something bad happens to me, it'll just shake her up (me:Omo I hope he's not dying). Regular customer tells him not to think that way, he's a man, he can fight it (me:shi!t he's dying). Kyung pyo asks him why he likes yumi, cos she's pretty but her temper... Customer says she's straightforward, her no means no, not everyone can do that. Kyung pyo says make her yours then and don't lose confidence. Lmao he's teaching him how to man up, give her a first kiss and confess to her, her landlady is passing, sees them and concludes they are gay (hahaha).

Kyung pyo is about to sleep and he remembers his childhood, he would make curry for his dad, but the dad would call to say he couldn't come, obviously cos he was with his other family.

The next morning someone is going through their waste bin, littering everywhere, Kyung pyo catches the person by surprise, it's the landlady lol she faints out of shock, yumi arrives, after she is revived yumi asks her why she came to scatter dirt in front of her shop, she says it's cos she's attracted to regular customer and she almost had him but Kyung pyo stole him from her(aigoo). Yumi remembers Kyung pyo asking her, what if he regains his memory and is a different person lmao she's heartbroken cos she thinks he's gay *sigh*. He comes in and asks her why she came to work so early, she says he bothers her, he's sad and says he was going to leave that day anyway, lol now she's sad. He says his memory is back, she says I see, I know I mean nothing to you, I don't care who you like, lol he's confused and goes excuse me?, she says I don't care if you leave or not, he says I know, she says whether you like me or not, whether you have breakfast or not I don't care, do you know that? Now he's angry too, he says I know so just stop. Regular customer comes in and says Kyung pyo are you sure you've really dated a lot of girls, don't you understand what yumi is saying. Kyung pyo says what do you mean, customer tells him to just tell her and stop making things hard for all of them, then he leaves. Kyung pyo wants to go after him and yumi says wait! Are you really dating him? (buahahahaha) Kyung pyo says what? She says the reason she came to work early is cos she keeps thinking of him, worrying about him, she doesn't know what's wrong with her, she has never met anyone that eats curry the way she does, she likes how his curry tastes like the one she misses, how he worries about her, he said he likes her.. He screams because I'm your younger brother. Awkward silence. Then she says what? He says they both grew up eating curry dad made, she doesn't like apples so their dad used to grate apples into the curry. Yumi is still very confused, he continues my name is cha Kyung pyo, I took my mother's last name, we're half siblings, he starts to tear up, he says he knew his dad had another family but he didn't know he had a child, he only found out a few days ago, she says do you expect me to believe that, he says that's why he wasn't going to say anything. She leaves the restaurant, he runs after her, she stops him, he says he wants to explain everything, she says his voice creeps her out, she says let me check something, if it's true come close, if it's a lie move backwards, she starts you are not my brother, he moves back (*sigh* this is painful to watch, they are both crying), you didn't intend to lie to me, he moves back, you weren't going to leave without saying a word, aigoo he says noona, she says shut your mouth, he moves back, she says you're so rotten, look for yourself, this is the distance that lies between us, she walks away, he stands there crying.

Yumi closes the restaurant indefinitely, Kyung pyo leaves a note for her on the door "sorry" and goes back to wherever he came from, the regular, the landlady, the police, they all leave notes for her on the door cheering her on. The policeman takes a picture of the notes and sends to her. Her mom asks her to go to the restaurant, she says maybe she wants to get married, the mom is excited and asks if she'll go on a blind date, she says no, what if she meets someone like dad, her mom says her dad never did anything wrong, it was other women that were chasing him (lewl) yumi asks her if she would be disappointed if she found out he did make a mistake, the mom says now that she's old whenever she thinks about dying and leaving yumi all alone, she wishes she had a sibling even if it were a half sibling but she would be hurt if her husband had made a mistake.

Regular customer takes all of the notes and goes to give yumi, he tells her people miss her and that Kyung pyo enlisted, she says so what? (me:pheww OK so that's where he was going, thank God he wasn't ill), he says a lot of people around Kyung pyo are dead so he was anxious that he would die before his military service is over which is why he didn't want to tell her, he said if something bad happened to him it would just shake her up. He says he knows it's none of his business but it isn't Kyung pyo's fault he was born that way. She says you must really care for him, he says I really care for you too, she looks at him in surprise, he gets nervous and says because we are 1 family (aigoo).

In her room, the bag of notes accidentally falls, she's picking them up and decides to read through some, they're all about people begging her to reopen cos they miss her curry, then she sees a card, cha Kyung pyo, 25 years old, good personality, majored in cooking, will probably be a chef after the army, started learning to cook to impress my dad whom I only got to see once or twice a year, my wish is to have a meal with my sister before I die. The end. P.s: inside the envelope is my curry recipe.

Lmao a few days pass, the landlady is now into the police ahjussi. Yumi reopens her restaurant, dalsu (that is regular customer's name btw) asks her if she won't ask about Kyung pyo, she says she isn't curious, and says he left his earmuffs behind, dalsu can come get it for him, he asks if he should tell Kyung pyo to come for it himself, she says but he's in the army, he says he rests on the weekend, he's a public worker, he says should I ask my brother in law to come, she's like brother in law? It's alright, you take care of him, she posts a sign that says if you don't want to eat alone, come to cat's restaurant at 9pm.

She's setting the table, Kyung pyo enters, noona I'm sorry... , she stops him, tells him to sit, puts curry and rice on the table and tells him to eat. She says let me make something clear, this is just a meal and nothing more, he eats and tells her it's good, she smiles, he smiles, they keep eating, the scene changes to them as children eating together (awwnnn). The endeu.

I would rate this 6/10

WHAT I LIKED ABOUT IT
1. Erm nothing much except for the fact that it proved what I already knew, DEADBEAT DADS ARE EVERYWHERE

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE ABOUT IT
1. Ok it's not like I hated it cos that was what made the story but I was hoping for romance and they gave me sibling love mtchewww lol, I was going to rate it a 7 but they broke my heart with this stepbrother thing so they get a 6

Random post : #videofashion. Mv for today is GOT7'S love loop. The fashion was simple and casual, a bit too simple for me, it almost bored me sef, there were uniforms and there were simple clothes like these

Storyline : No storyline

Styling : 7/10. They were decent outfits, I just wasn't feeling the simplicity this time

Choreography : 5/10

Set design/props : mtchewww so there's a lot of effects, I guys got7 were in the planetary system or whatever but my eyes actually hurt from all the weird colored lights (need to get new glasses tbh)

Acting : 10/10

Best/worst actor : everyone had the appropriate facial expression

I finally watched The Tale of Nokdu. It's been a while since I saw a happy ending Korean Drama and this was refreshing.

Beautiful colours and sceneries, heartwarming laughters and convos. Pretty faces and attires.

This one didn't hook me like others did but it was pretty pleasant. It felt like I was 16 again, the lovey dovey thingy between Nokdu and his girlfriend who he is much prettier than BTW.

Nokdu looks so much like Ji Chan Wook and they kinda act the same way.

Some Koreans can be annoyingly pretty, how is it that someone can be so pretty and beautiful and still be a man? His role as lady Kim didn't even help matters as I was stuck with his too pretty and feminine baby face...


Also, How is that Nokdu is such a terrible kisser? I cringed when I watched his first kiss scene. F-9!!! Blah !!! He got better with subsequent kiss scenes but it was very hard trying to forget the flop of his first kiss scene.

I finally watched The Tale of Nokdu. It's been a while since I saw a happy ending Korean Drama and this was refreshing.

The only Korean action I really enjoyed was IRIS. I jumped into IRIS two with the same enthusiasm and so many questions only to be utterly disappointed. I dumped it and have never bordered to go back to it. Ok, I did enjoy Hotel King too, then Bad guy, a little...
Really, I usually believe that Sageuks, good ones alone can quench my thirst in great action, good writing and strong but realistic Romance. Lol, I may be wrong.


So recommend away, not just recent ones, wanted to do Hwarang but you somehow discouraged me...

Vagabond!!!!!!!

Hwarang was actually interesting to me sha oh but there were a lot of filler scenes in the last few episodes. I think you'll like it.

I think I've said this before but I LOVED Arthdal chronicles but it's not complete, neither is vagabond BTW!!!
These are the ones I really enjoyed too, various genres:
Heartless city
When the devil calls your name
He is psychometric
Doctor John (medical drama but this is one of my top dramas of all time)
Rookie Historian( this is a saguek with more comedy than action but there's still some sort of conspiracy going on sha so...) And I actually liked it a lot

These two are crime dramas, no romance. What I love the most about them is that for the first time, the cops and people involved were not daft. Plus spicy male leads.

I LOVE YOU! LMAO! He's just.....and what I really loved about the drama was that he was tsundere, not mean. Unlike that mumu from playful kiss. Sakura sha....upgraded Oh Ha Ni, LMAO but she had sense that used to come and go. They were just so cute. But the highlight will always be TENDO SENSEI!
