The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has condemned the latest attacks by bandits in Katsina State in three local government areas that left 47 persons dead.

The bandits carried out the attacks in Dutsinma, Danmusa and Safana local government areas about 12.30 am on Saturday.

Buhari, reacting to the incident in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, on Sunday, said he was “deeply saddened” by the latest development.

The President called on Nigerians not to despair because, according to him, the regime is ever determined to defeat and crush the criminal elements taking advantage of the lockdown to attack their victims.

He said he would not tolerate “this large-scale killing of innocent people by the bandits,” adding, “in line with my commitment to the security of the people, these attacks will be met with decisive force.”

The President directed the security agencies not to rest on their oars or lower their guard, which he said would create a vacuum for the bandits to strike.

While extending his sympathies to the families of the victims, Buhari called on the people to show more vigilance by reporting the activities of criminal elements in their midst.

This President enjoys hearing news like this, a serious president will keep sacking his security officials till they get results. I think something is wrong somewhere.

Who did the Katsina government actually negotiated with the other time? After all we saw him taking selfie with armed bandits.

Movement is restricted in the state, meaning that security agents can move swiftly to any destination with little hinderances, why didn't get to the rescue of the affected community in time.
