Afonjas and their tomfoolery; who is dragging Lagos with you? The fact is Niger Delta oil money, selection of Lagos as Capital Territory, and taxes and duties paid by Nigerians made Lagos what it's today. As Dokubo Asari said...Lagos will be nothing without Niger Delta oil money and monopolization of seaports and airport. If they should open Port Harcourt, Calabar, Warri, Onne and Onitsha seaports and riverport, as well as Enugu, Port Harcourt, Calabar, Asaba and Uyo airports to full and complete international status( in deeds not in words...without interference by federal government), LAGOS WILL GO BANKRUPT.

BTW, do you know how much I paid in taxes last week for my business in Lagos? If you know, you will lie down and thank me for supporting Lagos, and in turn, that money used to pay yorubaa civil servants, your father and mother included. So thank us for supporting you people if not hunger for done finish una. SMH

In 2012, Lagos state's budget was N485 billion

In 2012, Akwa ibom's budget was N544 billion

For several years, Akwa Ibom posted the largest budgets in Nigeria, even way more than Lagos state, but Lagos state still awarded and commissioned more projects and infrastructures than the whole of SE and SS combined.

Akpabio as the governor of Akwa Ibom budgets billions every year for Ibaka seaport, but even bush clearing was not done, that money was just pocket money while Lagos state was actively 2 deep seaports

Today, DELTA state is the second largest debtor in Nigeria after Lagos, they owe N331.95 billion, that's x 2 what they own in Osun state, even though we can see what the people of Osun state did with their debts, but there's nothing on the ground in Delta state.

Money is not everything and you cannot replace good, credible and competent leaders with money.

N331.95 billion, Osun and Akwa Ibom owe N165.91

The bulk of the Revenue was generated through commodities such as:
Cotton goods
Palm Oil
Palm Kennel
Rubber

None which is produced in Lagos, yet all glory goes to Lagos. This shows that Lagos has been parasitic from time immemorial. Let me join them in hailing Lagos:

Oko oni badie oo

Tell me how those region will turn the listed products to money without the Lagos port to help them achieve their aims?

Apparently you had no clue that palm oil is a product along the Southern Forest belt and was not in exclusion to Ibo. From West to Midwest to South and East were palm oil plantations and rubber plantations. Mumu
Very true about Lagos. The palm oil business boom was one among many agricultural produce Yoruba were heavily involved in its cultivation that drew the attention of Dahomey,King Geezo. And this led to the transaction of palm Oil produce between him etc and Yoruba people on this business. In fact, Nigeria jettisoned Southwest geometric growth if all had been allowed to developed independently, which in the first will help differentiate standardization from substandard we see around today. It is saddening and mind burgling seeing all sort of substandard palm oil produced that has dominated the Lagos market. All thanks to those wicked people outside Yoruba enclaves. These are some of the reasons embargo are placed on exportation of agricultural produce which are craven for by Yoruba– Nigerian– Africans in abroad as well as diaspora Yorubas and not forgetting the Caucasians whose curiosity drives them to trying some African delicacies, especially some of them that had visited Africa continent at one time or the other. Yorubas are known for exemplary fit which would have made even Yoruba nation be the first African Ethnicity to explore outer space because our adventurous nature .

Why can’t the British invest the same in your landlocked region? Could it be because it’s barren and erosion ravaged?

You developers always claimed you built Lagos, you always said without you Lagos would be nothing. Yet Lagos was what it was in those days because of the revenue from the Western/Mid-west Nigeria as you can clearly see from the info provided by the OP.

The British are not Father Christmas, all those resources are gotten from the west/mid-west part of Nigeria and that is what gave Lagos the required push.

Shey the British use their father money to build it ni?

During the period when the British were chilling in Lagos establishing infrastructure with the SW resources and money, your own ancestors were busy roaming the Bush naked.

It’s just akin to telling the British to build infrastructure for a group of roaming human that don’t even have cloth to wear let alone understand the value of infrastructure.

Originally it was Ibos and oil money that made Lagos now that reality is starting them in the face it is The British

They couldn't have used your resources because the resources were worthless until they exported the cocoa to Europe to people making chocolate.

It was the British that made cocoa in the western hinterland or palm oil and rubber in the East into cash crops

They invested money in ports, forced your ancestors to plant the cocoa and made plenty of money for the British Empire.
