Hello house, good day to you all. Please I'm new here and I need some advice on Canada tourist visa application.

My mom has an invitation to attend a Communal event in Canada scheduled for August 22, 2020. With the covid 19 happenings we're just confused on when is the right time to apply for her visa.

Being that processing time takes about 90 days, will we still be able to meet up with her application/approval between now and August 22nd?

Secondly, if she's to apply now, how can she carry out her biometrics as every state in Nigeria is on lockdown now?

Thirdly, when can be considered late application for one who needs to be in Canada days before August 22nd?

Please and please my people, we'll appreciate your prompt response on this issue. We're actually in a confused state at the moment.

Thanks a lot and God bless you all!

Hi,you can apply now and biometric later so far it not her fault because currently canada biometeic centre is on lockdown worldwide and visa APPLICATION cannot be access without biometic also people with valid tourist visa are not allowed to travel to canada.and nobody knows when the current virus situation will be under control even you will not be surprise most event are now be reschedule till further notice.

Hello, I applied for TRV in February and and it returned as refused on March 19 for the following reasons as attached.

I got a letter of introduction from my company which shows i have been a staff since January 2019, but i was refused based on my employment situation. I don't understand what they mean, can anyone advice?

Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Shespeaks: 11:46pm On Apr 13, 2020
Ok thanks a lot. I appreciate... Since the virus outbreak may bring about a rescheduling of the event, do you think we should rather hold on now and apply prior to a new proposed date for the event which might possibly be postponed?

I know someone who landed as a PR end of March 2019, applied for a US visa in October and was given 10years.
gentleiphy:

Just the same way when you arrive here as a PR and just six months after arriving you go to apply for US visit visa here in Canada, you will be rejected as they also see it as too short a time for a PR to want to visit US.

I think is best to wait and let this virus issue settle and life back to normal in canada and elswhere then you can apply...i know many people that have postpone travel plans due to this virus issue

10yrs US visa for Canadian PR holders is the usual visa expiry and nothing less sir/ma,...please read what i said..six months after arriving, the i know someone you mentioned has more than 6 months post PR arrival eligibility. Never be too quick to reply a message if you don't understand all the bits and pieces.

Sir/Ma, can you show me where it states that one will be rejected if they applied for a US visa after being a Canadian PR for 6 months or less?

I am not here to argue what you don't know, this thread is for Canadian tourist visa, i only made reference to US visa application while here in Canada to drive home my point for the super visa application refusal. wait when you become a PR or if you are already a PR and less than 6 months post arrival, please apply for US visa then come back here and tell the result. others who needs the information and who it was meant for would have picked one or two things from the heads up. However i will add this for you to ponder as well, being a Canadian PR holder does not also guarantee you US visa approval.

Hello everyone. So my Canada visa expires on April. And I want to renew. I was refused study visa twice last year. Please will it affect my renewal? What are Ng chances of getting a visa this time? Secondly I gave birth to my child with this soon to be expired visa.

Hello Fams, please I need your experience on this : I applied for visit visa on the 11th of March to attend a cousin’s wedding ceremony in June and also spend some time for vacation in Canada, unfortunately due to COVID-19 the wedding has been postponed till a date to be advised and an email notification was sent to me.

Considering the fact that my application is getting closer to when decision might be made, can the email notification help my application if I inform CIC via web form? I did online application. Please I urgently need opinions here. Thank you

If you already applied for a visitor visa
Step 1: Email us at IRCC.COVID-TravelExemptions-Exemptionsdevoyage-COVID.IRCC@cic.gc.ca to tell us

you’re exempt from the travel restrictions
you need to travel for an essential purpose
you have an application in process
how you applied for your visa—online or by paper
Step 2: When emailing us, make sure you give us the following information:

your application number
your unique client identifier (UCI) number
where you live now (current country of residence)
how you meet one of the exemption criteria
evidence that you meet this exemption (provide proof as an attachment in your email)
For example, if you qualify as an immediate family member of a Canadian citizen or Canadian permanent resident, you can provide one of the following:
a letter of support from your family member
your birth certificate
your marriage licence
a letter from your spouse, partner or parent
why you need to travel to Canada for an essential purpose
although it’s not recommended that you book travel before you get your visa, if you’ve booked travel, provide your travel itinerary, including your
flight number
departing time and location
arrival time and location
Step 3: You’ll receive an email, via your IRCC Secure Account, confirming if your application is approved or refused, or requesting more information so we can make a decision. If you’ve not been able to give your biometrics due to a service disruption, please note that applicants are now being given 90 days instead of 30 to complete this step. Find out more information on giving biometrics.

If your application is approved, we’ll tell you the next steps in the process.

If you originally applied for a visitor visa by paper, you can link your application to an online account. In your online account, you can see the status of your application and receive messages about your application.

Your application won’t be processed until the pause is lifted if

you don’t meet one of the exemption criteria
an officer determines that you’re not travelling for an essential purpose
Step 4: You need to prepare properly before arriving at the airport to fly to Canada.

Important: You must bring evidence (see step 2) that you meet one of the exemption criteria and that you are travelling for an essential purpose. If you can’t provide this information, you won’t be allowed to board your flight to Canada.
Airline officials will be conducting a health check, and anyone showing symptoms of COVID-19 won’t be able to board their flight to Canada.
Step 5: When you arrive in Canada, we’ll assess your health before you leave the airport. You must quarantine for 14 days, even if you have no symptoms. This is mandatory.

Make we know if it's only student visa they are processing or if they are processing visit visa too. People are not talking here at all. When I login on April 1st, they have started my eligibility review but I don't know the exact date they start am but since then, I no see anything again on my application. So I'm worried, if they've stopped processing visit visa or if they are still processing it. Please people should talk make we know how far.

Why? They could have at least let people know if their application is successful or not, after all nobody can travel now.
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by elegantxxx: 8:11pm On Apr 23, 2020
There will be no need for that since you cant travel if your Application was successful... Nobody knows when this whole shutdown will be over, so what is the need of approving a visa when u cant ascertain the validity.

Hello Family

Please May I ask I don’t know if any one has been in my shoes,
. I applied for Visit Visa with my son year 2017, we weee denied

I think I missed to mention my step siblings while filling the family information form for visit visa , I can’t recollect if I filled my two step siblings back then in the family information form I used for visit Visa application

Now we were planning to apply PR and we received ITA. . So I am just stuck in this Information part as I wld love to really add them as per this is the final chance to add any blood relations And my hubby though is The Principal Applicant. There is a section while filling the PR application that says we shld list all family members , I

If I include them now in PR hope it’s not gonna be an issue . I mean since my details is already in the database , or probably is visit visa treated separate and PR treated separate and there shldnt be any correlation.

All other details are correct . Pl help what should we do

Canada TRV application is on hold till April 29. They are only processing visa for those with exemptions, of which I happen to be one of them. My husband is a permanent resident, so my application is ongoing as his immediate family member (spouse). I have been asked to go do medicals (the normal medicals for immigration purpose o), which I already booked an appointment for Tuesday. If you go through Thier website, they specifically said it is only applications of those with exemptions that are been attended to at the moment. Let's hope and pray they continue the general application on the 30th of April, if they don't extend the pause.
