Covid-19 has captured and exposed the weakness in the most powerful country in the world. As the cases soar the deaths will follow leading to ridicule and doubts about the misplaced strength of convectional war to defeat microbes and guerrilla wars. The irony is those that are capable of winning inside the USA are stifled and fired from positions that can help the country win. |

laiperi:The United states and the world in general never saw this coming due to underreporting from China. That's why it hit so many parts if the world hard in terms of fatalities. China stands to gain the most. They've started stockpiling oil already. |

Hypnotise:The bolded is so false. Even I saw this since last December and I am based in Nigeria. China reported everything as when as they should. And they locked down immediately it became an epidemic. The world saw it coming. WHO saw it and warned the world. Some were prepared, other were dismissing it. Like Trump who dismissed it will go with the flu season. Trump is the major reason USA was not prepared for it, he dismissed expert advise, promote drugs that he knew nothing about, dismantle the platform set behind by Obama in cases like, and today denied being a part of the that dismantle it. When medical teams complain of lack of PPE, Trump accused them of selling them and when he asked in a press conference, he accused the journalists of being nasty. Today, he is trying to spark war, cause civil unrest and call for protest just about anything to absolved itself from blame. |

Hypnotise:Stockpiling oil ke? How? The world is running out of storage face for the crude produced even now and basically selling off as much as they can in the meantime and you say China stockpiling oil should be cause for concern ![]() |

Kobojunkie:It's a news report I watched on Aljazera. China has large reserve tanks and the united states oil is at it's lowest in history. Chinese are buying the oil for next to nothing as against $60 dollars per barrel in Dec/Jan. |

rottennaija:China already told us that they had a virus and kept it from how it works until Feb as of January they said covid 19 can't be transferred to human and later said asymptomatic can't person can't transfer it....which all later become false and giving people false information about the total number of death and infection which make the rest of the world thing it's not big deal but later prove otherwise when they were forced to recount |

rottennaija:China has had a similar outbreak in the past in the form of SARS. It was underreported because of their communist policy thankfully it wasn't that deadly and the fatalities were less than 800. With this outbreak China chose to underreport the virus again but it was much deadlier this time. Even president Trump thought that china had it under control and was praising president xi on twitter for handling the outbreak well. I agree that trump likes to play the blame game but if you cast your mind back to February, Trump was the first president to suspend all flight into his country except united kingdom and Ireland, it caused an uproar. Many accused him of being a nationalist. He also quarantined the Diamond princess cruise ship for '14' days alas the efforts were not enough. Also other advanced countries with all their technology and contingency plans have had their fatalities in their thousands. I'm telling you, the world was I'll prepared for this. China had the advantage of previous experience. |
