Why don't you download at night, using night plan?/its cheaper and glo gives 1GB for 100 naira, five nights validity, meaning you can roll it over if you don't exhaust it.

I used MTN and Globacom before the lockdown, but Globacom improved and mtn depreciated in my area in terms of speed

Yes, I do that sometimes. But I have been too tired lately to download at night. And generally, I just want fast Internet speed at all times because of what I do on Instagram. I hate when it takes my Glo minutes to load an image or play a short video on Instagram. It can be frustrating.

I have been downloading this episode of money heist since around 5:30. The first time around, the download was almost complete and it failed after like 45 minutes. I tire for this line.

Update...

I live in Ibadan...in an area called, Ajobo (close to Ojoo)

I've been downloading this same money heist for 2 weeks. On this same glo. I Discover glo is only for for anything in text format and not even image or video.

These things depends on Frequencies, your recharge style and usage will determine on the bandwidth your sim will be place.
Same glo network we all loath is what the Chevron staff uses, their Connection is always on top speed at anytime of the day and at any location they found themselves.
But Etisalat And MTN are better for those with "small budget" but don't complain about how fast your data runs out

Are you sure about this? I recharge a lot...at least above 10k a month on data alone

Honestly, mediocrity is what they give us in this country. Could you believe that I missed a high-paying remote work (based in the US) just cuz my MTN network speed could not pass the mandatory SPEED TEST.
if you know what's good for you, run from mtn. None is actually better, the have their on and off dependent on area.

For me, airtel is best. Mtn downloads an app of 10mb using 60mb. Run
Or #25 for 250mb mtn night plan

Mtn is getting unreliable for me, at night.
I get failed downloads and there are not as many options like Globacom.

Also Globacom can give multiples of 1GB between 12 and 5am unlike mtn which gives a maximum of 500Mb

The guy who commented that none of the networks are up to what's obtainable elsewhere is right. However, 9mobile is blazing fast- the fastest of them all which is surprising. The downside of 9mobile is that your data subscription drains up just as cast which is a big problem and their prices are no where near the affordability of glo and mtn. Mtn is a fast network for me until about a month ago. You know what you said about glo, trust me, mtn is worse now for some reason I don't understand. The speed is just fine on mobile phone but crawls slower than a tortoise on PC. As for airtel, I don't even look that way.

I think this has something to do with the lockdown and everyone staying at home, and congesting the network. The internet speed on my GLO was manageable too, till this lockdown started, and it became slower than I can take.

Try uc browswer app when downloading, it pause your download when networt goes bad.

Yea, I had it on my phone at some point, but the app kept bugging me with ads of all sorts. I had to uninstall it. Sometimes, I still install it, download a movie, and then uninstall afterwards.

Browsing fast has nothing to do with densely populated areas o.whether e populate or not.a network wen dey fast,e go fast.sm say mtn is did beat, but go sm areas,na nonsense, even airtel, but glo might b d best, e go dey too fast.a network can b good here, n bad in another area.
So it depends on your location. Even d house u stay,if u go toilet,na der d network go fast, cm see where ppo dey sit down toilet cos of browsing. cheesy grin

* The network speed depends on your area or location; glo may be the fastest in Ikoyi, but not in surulere...MTN may also provide the fastest network speed in VI, but not in Onikan.

* The time of the day contributes to the slow network connection that you’re experiencing.

* You may also be experiencing this issue a little bit more than normal because of the lockdown; more folks are using their phones

* Furthermore, due to the retardedd power supply all around the country, the network speed may not be maximized during power outage.

Call your ISP and ask for one of their network engineers to give you more info regarding the sporadic network speed you’re experiencing.

I’m sticking with GLO!

This is so true. I was okay with the speed till this lockdown started.

I'm tired of my Glo... Sometimes it will be okay (not fast), and sometimes it will be annoyingly slow.

After midnight, I can download a 100 mb movie within 2 minutes, but it will take 1 hour to download the same movie in the day time.

I also have Airtel line, and it is a bit faster than my Glo, but they zap data like crazy. Sometimes, they don't even warn you before your data finishes... You can have 400mb one minute, and the next, you get message you don't have data again.

I don't know how Etisalat and MTN are. Guys, which Network do you think I should go for? I really need fast internet connection cos of what I do on Instagram... Using Instagram with my Glo can be so frustrating. Sometimes I feel like throwing the Sim away, but they give some really good bonuses when you recharge a lot.
Which server did you download from?
Download speeds most times depend on the server.

the real fast Glo APN is

Make sure you use 4G. You'll never have problem again.
Even where there's no 4G connection we must make sure to use 4G right?
