Existing underlying medical cases of patients who are neglected as a result of the Corona pandemic is what is causing mass death in Kano and also contributing to some deaths other states alongside the covid 19. Hospitals and medical practitioners are not attending to patients who are sick with other non contagious infections because of the fear of being infected with Corona. This is leading to worsening medical conditions in non-corona patients and the deaths which are also either tagged corona related or no explanations as is seen in Kano. There are cases of autoimmune diseases that are in need of regular medical checkups and care who have run out of drugs or are not getting the required medical attention or whose cases relapsed during the Corona lockdown. Like diabetic, hypertensive, kidney dialysis patients, etc.

The government needs to step up their efforts so as to limit the deaths.
